The soon to be single Katy Perry stepped out in Vegas for a Givelove.org event on Friday, January 27, 2012 for the first time in the U.S. since her soon to be ex husband, Russell Brand, filed for divorce. The charity event was held at the Mirage Hotel and dedicated to help offer sustainable, low income results for Haitian earthquake victims. The songstress looked stunning with sapphire locks, a tiny studded cocktail dress, and her characteristic smile.
Perry reportedly sat surrounded with friends at a VIP booth and enjoyed a few drinks while showing her support for the Patricia Arquette created organization despite the rumors swirling regarding the end of her marriage. Insiders blame drug abuse, religion, and overall communication breakdown as contributing factors of the demise of Katy and Russell’s marriage. Whatever the cause, last month Brand opened up on the Ellen Degeneres Show and offered a heartfelt commentary on the status of his relationship with the pop singer. Brand quipped: “I’ve treated the whole Internet now like it’s a wicked little liar. Yeah, I’m really happily marriage. I’m married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge.”
