Katie Couric is getting some practice at hosting her own daytime talk show, thanks to the ladies of The View.
ABC newcomer Katie Couric won’t debut her new daytime talker until Sept. 2012, but the veteran newswoman’s already getting into the spirit of things over at The Alphabet Network. Here she is spoofing reality octomom Kate Gosselin to side-splitting perfection on ABC’s late night smash, Jimmy Kimmel Live, this week.

With Daytime Fans likely to be hit hard by the absence of The Big O (Oprah Winfrey, that is…) this fall, ABC announced Monday that they are bringing former NBC and CBS newswoman Katie Couric aboard to host a new afternoon talk show. The multi-year deal will give Couric a role at ABC News, The Hollywood Reporter reports, in which she will contribute to ABC News, anchoring specials, conducting interviews, and participating in special-events coverage.
But what does Couric’s new career move mean for General Hospital, The Alphabet Network’s lone-surviving sudster?

It’s official: She’s done mornings and evenings, now veteran newswoman Katie Couric’s headed for daytime. The former host of NBC’s The TODAY Show and the CBS Evening News will host and produce a daily one-hour talk show premiering on ABC in Sept. 2012, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
