Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley have completed their adoption of a 10-month-old girl from Korea — and she’s a real cutie.
The Emmy-winning Grey’s star and her singer-songwriter spouse have named their new baby daughter Nancy Leigh, after the actress’s mother Nancy and sister Margaret Leigh — who was adopted from the same Asian nation in the 1970s. The new addition to the Heigl-Kelley Family will go by the nickname Naleigh, Katherine’s spokeswoman Melissa Kates announced on Thursday. Read the rest of this entry »
Katherine Heigl will become a mom later this week. According to RadarOnline, the Emmy-winning star of ABC’s medical drama Grey’s Anatomy and her rocker hubby Josh Kelley will finalize the adoption of a 10-month-old girl from Korea as early as Friday.
The website cites a source, who claims the couple began the adoption process on a baby girl 10-month-old named Nayleigh at least six months ago. The girl’s nickname will be Leigh. Heigl, 30, is expected to formally announce the news on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to air this Friday.
Katherine Heigl is taking a leave of absence from Grey’s Anatomy. The controversial star will go on a five-episode hiatus from the award-winning medical drama to film her latest motion picture effort — the romantic comedy Life as We Know It — during the show’s upcoming sixth season, Entertainment Weekly has learned.
“Katherine is taking time off to film a movie. The producers at Grey’s have accommodated past things like that before. It’s a cast of 13 and it is a true ensemble so the show is mindful [of other commitments].”
ABC President Steve McPherson has slammed Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl for her recent outburst criticizing show bosses for their “cruel and mean” work schedule.
During an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman in July, Heigl set out to “embarrass” her bosses after she was forced to work a 17 hour day when the series came back from hiatus last month.
McPherson has slammed the star for going public with her complaints, stating that she’s not the only staff member putting in long hours on the show.
He tells the Hollywood Reporter: “I think it’s unfortunate. People are going to behave in the way they choose to behave. There are so many people who work so hard on ‘Grey’s,’ and all of our shows, without any notoriety and those are the ones I’d be concerned about, people who feel like they’re being criticized or looked down upon.”
Actor Seth Rogen and Funny People director Judd Apatow slammed Grey’s Anatomy’s Katherine Heigl in an appearance on Howard Stern Thursday after the star blasted their 2007 film Knocked Up as “sexist.”
Katherine starred as a fast-track professional who becomes pregnant after a one-night stand with a stranger in the box office comedy. The actress rubbed her former colleagues the wrong way after insisting the film portrays women as “shrews.” Read the rest of this entry »

Katherine has joined pop star Fergie and fellow actress Scarlett Johansson as the latest stars to go dark. What do you think of Katherine as a brunette?
“Now I’ve got this moniker that I’m the foot-in-the-mouth gal, and I keep thinking, In what way? Because I said something you don’t agree with? Because I said something you don’t like? I’m just telling you my opinion. I hate the idea that I can’t be honest about how I feel about things because it’s going to piss somebody off who feels differently. That seems preposterous to me,” Katherine Heigl, In Style Magazine, August 2009
Katherine Heigl, of Grey’s Anatomy and Knocked Up fame, returns to big-screen romance opposite 300 star Gerard Butler in the romantic summer comedy, The Ugly Truth, in theaters July 24.
Katherine plays Abby, a high-strung and romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for Mr. Perfect has left her hopelessly single. That is until she’s assigned to produce a tv talk show hosted by the tough-as-nails Mike Chadway, portrayed by Gerard.
