In the Feb. issue of Shape Magazine, former American Idol finalist and bulimia survivor Katharine McPhee talks about her new healthy lifestyle.
“The more I focused on my weight, the worse my bulimia got,” the recently-blonde singing star recalls. “Now I’m more easygoing. I stopped fighting myself and became more forgiving of my body. Ironically, the weight came off naturally through exercise but no dieting.”
The new issue of Shape hits newsstands January 18. Katharine’s sophomore album, Unbroken, is available now.
After a tepid debut in 2007, armed with a new look and a take no prisoners approach American Idol Season 5 runner-up Katharine McPhee is trying her hand at Billboard gold once again with the release of her sophomore album, in stores this January.

Katharine McPhee sang her way into our hearts as runner-up on the fifth season of American Idol. Despite disappointing sales for her 2007 debut, the formerly brunette powerhouse is in the news again –thanks to the release of a new album and some freshly cropped tresses.
And doing good deeds is always in fashion….Star Magazine spies have learned that Katharine has donated her chopped hair to Locks of Love, the organization that makes wigs for children who have lost their own locks due to illness.
“Katharine has wanted to donate her hair for years and she loves her new look,” a tipster tattles.
Katharine’s sophomore album Unbroken hits store shelves in January. Her single ‘Had it All’ is available on iTunes now.
