Former American Idol Jordin Sparks is recovering in Los Angeles hospital after emergency surgery to have her appendix removed.
The 19-year-old singer had been scheduled to perform Down Under Australian Idol champ Guy Sebastian this Sunday, but has scrapped the show after being admitted to the hospital with acute appendicitis Wednesday night.

Speaking to MTV News, the singer said: “He’ll probably target me for saying that. It’s okay, Russell. I can take it. I got my armor!”
“Does he have any other jokes besides the sexual ones? Nothing mean about it. I’m just asking. It’s an honest question.”
