We have Senator John McCain to thank for keeping his wife Cindy off the eighth season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.

The former GOP candidate for president was a guest on Larry King Live Thursday night, and he told the talk show host that although they talked about it, Cindy McCain will not be a contestant on the ballroom dance-centered series.

“Well, we discussed it. But we decided it just was not a good idea,” says McCain, who pointed out that his beer heiress wife has undergone knee replacement surgery.

“It would have been very challenging. But I’m proud of her work and charity around the world, Operation Smile, a number of other organizations — humanitarian efforts that she’s involved in and is continuing to be involved in.”

The National Enquirer has sparked speculation that Cindy McCain, the woman who almost became America’s new First Lady, has been having an affair and cheating on her husband of more than two decades, Arizona senator John McCain.

“I couldn’t believe I was watching Cindy McCain passionately kissing and hugging another man!” says a spywitness, who claims to have spotted the 54-year-old wife of Senator McCain slobbing down a long-haired man with a striking resemblance to “a washed-up ’80s rock musician.”

The wealthy blonde heiress and her secret pal have been spotted together around her hometown of Phoenix, Arizona over the past several years, The Enquirer writes.

A second witness spotted Cindy and her “mystery man” at a Moody Blues concert “passionately kissing and hugging.”

“I couldn’t believe it. I remember thinking, ‘Go get a room!’

“His success alone commands my respect,” McCain told a crowd of his supporters. “This is a historic election and I recognize the special significance it has for African Americans.”

The senator then pledged to do everything in his power “to help him lead us” through any challenges ahead.

(Although I can’t support many of his conservative ideals, I actually like Senator McCain as a person; very brave and opinionated man he is.)

Let’s hope we’ve seen the last of Governor Sarah Palin. Good riddance!

Madelyn Dunham passed away of cancer on Sunday at the age of 86.

Senator McCain is no Sarah Palin when it comes to attracting viewers.

The Republican presidential candidate’s appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend drew 12 million viewers in comparision to Palin’s October 18 SNL guest spot, which was watched by more than 15 million and set a ratings record for the show’s most viewers since 1994.

In this SNL skit, John McCain (played by McCain) and Sarah Palin (played by Tina Fey) address the nation on QVC. Given the big deal everyone has been making about Palin’s expensive wardrobe, this one is pretty funny.

This Saturday, November 1, Republican presidential candidate John McCain will reportedly make his second appearance of the year on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
