The “Paparazzi” singer performed John Lennon’s “Imagine” at a gay rights march in Washington last weekend
and even the legendary Beatle’s widow took to Twitter to praise the pop star: “Dear @ladygaga Thank you for singing IMAGINE,” the 76-year-old wrote. “Hearing that made me choke up…..You are so beautiful! In Sisterhood and love, Yoko.”

The image, which was initially shot to promote the release of Double Fantasy — Ono and Lennon’s first album together in five years — graced the cover of Rolling Stone’s commemorative issue to the music legend on Jan. 22, 1981.

While the iconic pic shows a clothed Ono being spooned by a naked Lennon, Sean and girlfriend Kemp Muhl switched roles for the Terry Richardson-snapped remake, which appears in the Fall issue of Purple Magazine.

Miley Cyrus has committed sacrilege and recorded a cover of John Lennon’s peace anthem “Imagine.”

Miley said in an interview with Moviefone.com this week: “I’m just a huge John Lennon fan. I studied him in school, and just watched the movie Chapter 27 (which depicts his murder).”

The 16-year-old says she hit the studio to record a duet iof the with her Hannah Montana: The Movie co-star Emily Osment after the pair bonded on the set of the film, through their love of the late Beatles legend.

“We (Cyrus and Emily Osment) did a duet of Imagine, in the studio.”

Miley has not revealed if the duet will ever be released.

John Lennon is appearing in a charity public service announcement 28 years after his death.

Thanks to digital technology, the former Beatle is urging Americans to support the “One Laptop Per Child” campaign to deliver solar-powered XO laptop computers to children in some of the poorest parts of the Globe.

“Imagine every child no matter where in the world they were could access a universe of knowledge. They would have a chance to learn, to dream, to achieve anything they want,” a voice and video image of Lennon has been created to say,” Lennon says in the ad.

“I tried to do it through my music, but now you can do it in a very different way. You can give a child a laptop and more than imagine, you can change the world.”

The Vatican has finally forgiven John Lennon for a boastful remark the rock icon made 42 years ago claiming that The Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ.

According to Reuters, the Vatican’s newspaper Osservatore Romano now says the 1966 quote was simply a boast by a young man coping with the fallout of instant fame.

“The remark by John Lennon, which triggered deep indignation mainly in the United States, after many years sounds only like a ‘boast’ by a young working-class Englishman faced with unexpected success, after growing up in the legend of Elvis and rock and roll,” the newspaper said.

“It’s dangerous for him to come out,” Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono said Monday. “Not only for us, but for himself.”

“[It's] not so much because of punishment. There are so many people out there who dislike him. It’s safer for him to stay in jail.”
