Don’t let the name dropping fool you — Miley Cyrus is no fan of Hova. In a new interview, the Teen Queen claims that despite referencing Jay-Z in the first verse of her hit single “Party In The USA,” she’s never actually heard a song by the Grammy-winning rapper, whose career spans more than decade. So what gives?
Apparently, Miles doesn’t “listen to pop music.”
Perhaps we’re missing something here, but doesn’t she sing pop music? And sure hip-hop isn’t as rugged as it was during the Biggie/Pac era, but Lil Wayne qualifies as a pop star now? Read the rest of this entry »

Jay-Z is defending Kanye West and his tacky outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City last weekend, chalking his former protege’s behavior up to “passion.” Uh-huh….we’ll believe that when pigs have wings.
Kanye has been under fire since her famously interrupted 19-year-old country star Taylor Swift as she was accepting her Best Female Video Moonman to tell the audience that the award should have gone to Jay-Z’s wife, R&B diva Beyonce.
“He’s just a super-passionate person,” Jay said speaking to the BBC Radio 1’s Jo Whiley on Friday.
Nonetheless, Jay-Z admits the incident was “inappropriate at the time.”
“Of course it was rude because it was her moment but that’s the way he really felt.” But he added, “I think it was rude but the way they’re treating him… He’s on the cover of every paper. He didn’t kill anybody. No one got harmed.”

Jay-Z has worked hard to keep the intimate details of his marriage to R&B star Beyonce private, but leave it to the Queen of Talk to convince the hip-hop mogul to open up –at least about date night!
“I’m gonna get killed for this, but I’ll tell you anyway,” Hov reveals in a new interview for the October issue of Oprah Magazine. “There’s a great pizza spot we go to every Sunday. It’s our tradition. It’s a small place in Brooklyn, you can bring your own wine, and there are candles there. It’s a nice date.”
Jay-Z will release his much-anticipated new album, The Blueprint 3, on Fri., Sept. 11.
Earlier this summer, Oprah joined Jay-Z as he returned to his childhood home in Brooklyn’s tough Marcy Housing Projects. The Queen of Talk got the hip-hop head honcho to open up about his days as a 13-year-old crack dealer, his use of the N-word, and life as Beyonce’s permanent armpiece.
Check out some highlights of their chat in the new October issue of O Magazine, on newsstands Sept. 15.
