British singing star Lily Allen continued her campaign to crack the American music market with a live performance of her new single, “The Fear,” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday night.
Actress Jennifer Aniston, who celebrates her 40th birthday this month, stopped by Leno last night to promote the premiere of her new romantic comedy, He’s Just Not That Into You.
Jimmy Fallon, who will replace Conan O’Brien on NBC Late Night once Conan takes over for Jay Leno on The Tonight Show later this year, appeared on Leno Monday to promote his webisodes, but wound up drenched water after an exchange with Jay.
Tom Cruise was a guest on The Tonight Show Thursday night. The Valkyrie star spoke with Jay Leno about his Golden Globe nomination and his future on Broadway.

On Tuesday, NBC confirmed the news that Jay Leno will head The Jay Leno Show, a 10 PM comedy/talk show, five nights a week, after Conan O’Brien takes over hosting The Tonight Show in 2009.
“Jay has played a major role in defining NBC’s brand of high-quality entertainment,” said NBC Co-Chairman Ben Silverman. “The 10 o’clock hour will bring Jay a whole new audience and provide a great lead-in both for our local affiliates and for Conan O’Brien, the next great host of The Tonight Show.”
The Jay Leno Show will premiere in the Fall of 2009.
