Mariah Carey on SNL. Mariah Carey will replace Janet Jackson on this week’s edition of Saturday Night Live. The “Touch My Body” star was tapped to appear as the musical guest on this week’s SNL after Janet was forced to cancel her scheduled performance due to a rocky battle with the flu. “They wanted her for 10 years,” Mariah’s rep says. “It’s going to be hot!” Mariah’s new album E=MC² will drop on April 15th.
Janet Jackson has cancelled her scheduled performance on this week’s edition of Saturday Night Live after visiting Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday night after falling ill with the flu.
“The main prescription to get over this flu is rest – and that’s what she has to do,” her rep says.
No word on a replacement just yet, hopefully Janet will up and feeling well again soon.

“Janet is fine. She’s just battling this flu like everyone else,” a rep for the star says.
Janet Jackson will appear on the March 15th installment of Saturday Night Live as the evening’s featured musical guest. Janet will perform tracks from her newly-released #1 album Discipline- which topped the Billboard 200 as well as the R&B charts this week.
