The estate of soul legend James Brown has been mismanaged-that’s the word from the singer’s six adult children.

According to legal documents filed in Aiken County, South Carolina late Wednesday, J.B’s kids want the estate trustees removed and also cite the fear of assets being in danger of being “lost or dissipated or stolen.”

The trust, signed in 2000, contains most of Brown’s primary assets, including music rights and his 60-acre Beech Island home. Six of the singer’s children will receive clothes, jewelry and automobiles, in accordance with a will filed last week.

J.B lawyer and trustee Buddy Davis says: “I’ve been Mr. Brown’s trusted friend and counsel for 24 years — a relationship that was built totally on our trust,” Dallas said. “And I never violated that trust for 24 years.”

The matter will be heard in court on February 1st.
