It’s On with Alexa Chung will not return to the air after its finale on Dec. 17, the network said in a statement Friday.
“Alexa Chung will present the last of her current series, It’s On With Alexa Chung, for MTV America next Thursday 17th December. She and the network have mutually decided to part ways on this project.”
Chung, a British model-turned-presenter, moved to New York City to front the series in June. It’s On, which has been on air for two seasons, was one of the few studio-based, live pop-culture show with music and interviews remaining MTV, which has turned its focus to more reality-based programs in recent years.

In an interview with MTV’sIt’s On With Alexa Chung Monday, Rihanna opened up on why she sat down for a tell-all interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer, which aired last week. While Chris Brown would prefer to keep the details of his February assault on the Bajan princess private, Rihanna — who appeared in a red and black hoodie and stylish ankle boots — says she’s speaking out to help others victims of domestic violence.
“Are you glad that you can now move on now that you’ve done that?” Alexa asked.
“Yeah, and that’s one of the main reasons I did it,” Rihanna explained. “And also to give insight to people who have been through what I have.”
The cast of Glee swung by It’s On with Alexa Chung on Tuesday, where they chatted about their latest album, their upcoming Madonna-themed episode, and got a surprise serenade by a devoted “Gleek.”
On Tuesday, producers of the FOX musical-comedy released Glee: The Music, Volume 1, the first album featuring music from the hit series. The second compilation disc, The Music, Volume 2, arrives Dec. 8.
