DreamWorks Studios has embarked on a nationwide search for the next great child star! The studio is hoping to cast a boy between the ages of 10 and 14 to star alongside Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman in the forthcoming film Real Steel.
While hopefuls may audition for the part by submitting a video to RealSteelCasting.com, there will also be two open casting calls; the first on Sunday, Feb. 14 in Chicago and a second on Saturday, Feb. 20 in New York City.
Hugh Jackman has turned down the chance to host the 2010 Academy Awards.
The Wolverine star, who did a wonderful job hosting last year’s ceremony, declined the chance to renew Oscar presenting duties, according to Variety. Earlier reports had suggested that the 41-year-old has instead chosen to prepare for his next film Real Steel once his Broadway run in A Steady Rain wraps up.
The 82nd Academy Awards will take place on March 7, 2010.
Hugh Jackman really knows how to stop a show! The Wolverine star was captured on video admonishing a theatergoer whose ringing cell phone interrupted a weekend performance of A Steady Rain — co-starring Jackman and James Bond star Daniel Craig — at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Broadway.
The audience erupted into cheers as Hugh broke character and bellowed at the owner of the ringing cell phone: “You want to get that? Come on, just turn it off.”
Wolverine star Hugh Jackman will produce and star in Avon Man, a new comedy from 20th Century Fox, Variety reports.
The story will center on an out of work car salesman who becomes an Avon rep and uses his good looks to become one of the cosmetics brand’s most successful workers.

According to Hollywood trade mag Variety, the Wolverine star will team up with Disney’s reigning teen queen in an upcoming comedy — tentatively titled Personal Security – chronicling the plight of “a tough Gotham police detective forced into bodyguard duty for a spoiled teen heiress who is receiving kidnapping threats…”
