Move over, Lauren Conrad: Hilary Duff is the newest Young Hollywood dweller putting pen to pad for a new series of young adult novels.
The newly-engaged actress/singer, 22, is busily working on a series of young adult novels — the first of which will debut this fall — Simon & Schuster Books for Young readers said on Tuesday. Hilary Duff is engaged! E! News snoops say the 22-year-old actress — who found fame as a teen starlet on Disney’s Lizzie McGuire — has accepted a proposal from her boyfriend of more than two years, NHL Edmonton Oilers star Mike Comrie.

Apparently, someone at the designer’s ritzy New York flagship store sent Hilary’s right-hand off with the wrong box. But that was no consolation to the Gossip Girl guest star, who spies say blew her top on the flunky after learning of the foul-footed mixup.
Star Magazine reports: “She was livid. She parted with the assistant on the spot and hasn’t spoken to her since.”

Hilary Duff has teamed with ABC Family for The Business of Falling in Love, a romantic comedy based on Daniella Brodsky’s Diary of a Working Girl.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Duff — who is currently in Manhattan taping a guest appearance on The CW series Gossip Girl — has been cast as a fashion reporter who goes undercover in the business world in the hopes of finding love while writing an article about dating professional men.
