“Heather’s creating a lot of drama with her diva antics. It’s making our lives miserable. She’s insecure and on edge. The responsibility is weighing heavily on her.”

The 48-year-old actress, who helped make the original Melrose Place a smash on FOX, allegedly had recently ousted actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz booted from the cast and has been acting like a total prima donna behind the scenes — thundering at cast and crew during random tantrums and even suffering a meltdown after one of her outfits was missing a button.

“Heather was absolutely fuming over the button, and said, ‘You got to be fucking kidding me, right? What kind of operation is this?’” she bellowed before storming off to her trailer, says the production insider.

The Enquirer writes: “Heather — who completed a stint in rehab after a DUI arrest last year — exhibited more tyrannical behavior when she arrived late to shoot an outdoor scene: ‘On one of the coldest days in L.A., she made the cast and crew and tons of extras wait outside to film.’”

A rep for Heather Locklear denies that the actress terrorizing her co-workers wit diva hijinks.

“Heather was jealous of Ashlee immediately,” says an insider. “She knew Ashlee was one of the bigger names on set, and she wanted her gone so she could make it her show. Heather is very politcial and calculating…”

On Oct. 22, The CW abruptly announced that Ashlee along with co-star Colin Egglesfield had been booted from the show. Producers are hoping Heather’s familiar face will be a show-saving draw for the critically-panned and ratings-challenged Melrose 2.0. Informants say that’s precisely why bosses had no problem ditching Ashlee — who will exit her role as Violet Foster — after 48-year-old Heather complained she’d been poking fun of her age to other members of the cast and crew.

“She was a thorn in Heather’s side from the beginning. Ashlee came off as insincere and a wannabe diva….Her lack of talent didn’t help her…She feels like a fool.”

That’s right — Heather Locklear, who starred on the original Melrose Place for seven seasons, will reprise her role as scheming ad exec Amanda Woodward on The CW’s recent critically-panned revival of the ’90s primetime soap. Heather joined the popular series at the end of its first season and stayed on throughout its successful run. She’ll join original castmates Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bisset, and Daphne Zuniga in the updated version.

Amanda was last seen with Peter (played by her real-life beau Jack Wagner) faking her own death on the Melrose series finale in 2000.

“We’re ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to ‘Melrose Place,’” executive producers Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer said in today’s press statement. “Heather’s involvement in the show is something we’ve been working on for some time as we couldn’t imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character’s inclusion.”

According to a PEOPLE, Heather Locklear is in talks to reprise her role as ruthless ad exec Amanda Woodard on the network’s new revival of Aaron Spelling’s ’90s primetime soap.

In April, the actress turned down an invitation to join the new cast after failing to reach a satisfactory salary agreement with Melrose producers.

Heather’s return would make her the fifth original castmember to appear on the new Melrose. Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga will all guest star on the show, premiering next month.

Despite recent whispers that the 47-year-old actress turned down an opportunity to reprise her role as sinister vixen Amanda Woodward on the original ’90s soap due to scheduling conflicts, National Enquirer informants claim any potential deal went dead after Heather a salary of $100,000 episode.

“In these tough economic times, the network could not–or would not–pay Heather the kind of money she thought she deserved,” says a TV industry tattle, who adds that the star was up for a recurring role on the show. “She was mainly going to be used to lure old fans to the new show, but Heather was looking for a meatier role and much more money.”

“She wanted at least a $100,000 an episode….The CW would only pay half of that….or less,” the insider reveals.

The new Melrose Place debuts on The CW Network this fall.

Well can you blame her?

The actress, who played Amanda Woodward on the FOX primetime soap between 1992-2000, has reportedly turned down an offer to reprise her role on a forthcoming revival of the series, which is set to premiere on The CW Network in the fall.

“There wasn’t a way to bring her back that made sense,” a CW source tells Entertainment Weekly.

Rep do confirm that Locklear has passed, the trade paper writes.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Jessica Lucas, Michael Rady, and Katie Cassidy have all signed on for starring roles on the new Melrose.

Heather Locklear just dodged a missle. Authorities have dismissed charges against the actress stemming from an arrest for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence in Santa Barbara last September 28.

The former Melrose Place star has pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of misdemeanor reckless driving and has been ordered to “pay a $700 fine, attend a 12-hour Driver’s Education course. and be on informal probation.”

Good for Heather. With that frightening mugshot floating around, we think the poor girl has been punished enough.

Heather Locklear is up for a role on a new revival of the primetime soap that made her a television staple through much of the ’90s.

The fortysomething actress has been approached about reprising her role as cutthroat advertising exec “Amanda Woodward” on The CW’s upcoming remake of the FOX drama Melrose Place.

“The CW is courting Heather Locklear,” a source revealed to E!’s Marc Malkin on Wednesday. “I don’t think anyone else from the original has been approached yet.”

The original Melrose, which aired between 1992-2000, ended its run ended with “Amanda” marrying longtime love “Peter Burns,” played by Heather’s real-life BF Jack Wagner, in a private island ceremony.

The new Melrose Place is expected to premiere next Fall on The CW.
