Warner Brothers Studio has begun campaigning for Heath Ledger to be nominated for a posthumous Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as “The Joker” in the Summer 2008 blockbuster The Dark Knight.

Six actors have been nominated for an Oscar after death–the only posthumous award went to Peter Finch for his role in the film Network in 1976.

The family of Heath Ledger have renounced all claims to the late actor’s estate. Instead, Heath’s $18 million fortune will go to his Matilda Rose Ledger, his two-year daughter with actress Michelle Williams. Read the rest of this entry »
