Less than a month after Joel Madden and Nicole Richie welcomed their second child — a son they’ve decided to call Sparrow — the couple is expressing worry over their oldest child Harlow, who at almost 2-years-old is “having a tough time adjusting” to the idea of being a big sister to her brand new baby bro, The National Enquirer claims in its Sept. 28 print issue.

Tabloid tattles claim the 20-month-old is upset she is no longer the sole center of her parents’ world, and she’s not sharing the spotlight without plenty of hellraising.

“Harlow is used to being doted on day and night, by not only her parents, but their entire extended family and circle of friends,” says a source, who asked not to be identified. “A few days before giving birth Nicole told Harlow: ‘Get ready — you’re going to be a big sister soon!’ Little Harlow screamed ‘No!’ and threw a temper tantrum,” The Enquirer writes.

“She was already beginning to experience the ‘Terrible Twos’ before Sparrow’s birth, but now Harlow’s even more of a handful — testing boundaries and throwing temper tantrums,” the insider adds. “She crawls into Nicole’s lap every chance she gets and begs to be hugged.”

Joel and Nicole are hoping to curb Harlow’s insecurities with a series of special outings. The Good Charlotte rocker has promised to take his little girl out to the park and for ice cream in a few weeks and Nicole is planning a mother-daughter lunch especially for Harlow.

Joel Madden was left fuming after a visit to a farmers’ market in Los Angeles over the weekend because a fellow shopper insulted his one-year-old daughter by comparing her to a dog.

One woman invoked a tough response from the doting dad after she singled out his daughter Harlow and her young playmates.

“Harlow and I went to the farmers’ market today… We had fun. Best part? Watching this lady freak out,” Joel wrote on his Twitter page on Sunday.

“I’ll explain. They wouldn’t let her dog run around. They said it was a health violation. She then looks at Harlow and other little kids around and says….’Look at these kids! They’re more of a health violation than my dog!’ And I said, ‘Lady, I’ll drop kick that lil’ mutt if you don’t shut it.’”

Joel Madden has blasted members of the paparazzi after his one-year-old daughter suffered a frightening encounter with the shutterbugs at a Miami airport over the weekend.

The Good Charlotte frontman was travelling through Miami International Airport with pregnant girlfriend Nicole Richie and their daughter Harlow in tow when the young family found themselves surrounded by more than a dozen snapping photos.

Writing on his Twitter account, Joel said: “These guys were sticking flashes in her face and bumping in to us and yelling. The most unneccessary force I’ve ever seen.”

“It was the first time I’ve ever seen my child scared. Not cool for any parent to see. At least in LA they gave us some space.”

The singer added that while his little girl had been “scared and confused” by the photographers behaving “like animals,” he “appreciated all the blogs and magazines that aren’t posting or buying” the photographs.

“And I do count my blessing. I know there are some people out there with ‘real’ problems. I never want to come off as complaining….just sensitive when it comes to my girls….”

Aww, poor little Harlow. She’s such a cutie.

“The proceeds will go directly to The Richie Madden Children’s Foundation to help bring more opportunities to children in the U.S. and abroad,” Nicole blogged on her Celebrity Myspace account Tuesday.

Former supermodel Cindy Crawford has banned her young daughter from watching Miley Cyrus’ hit Disney series Hannah Montana, because it teaches the 7-year-old to talk back.

“I love Hannah Montana, but she (daughter Kaya) learns to be sassy from that show. I’ll say to her, ‘I don’t let anyone talk to me like that. I’ll certainly not take it from a seven year old in my own house.’”

Harlow’s maternal grandpa, R&B legend Lionel Richie, has set up a trust fund worth an estimated $5 millionfor his first-born granddaughter.

In addition to the lovely offering from Papa Lionel, dad Joel Madden has also set up a seven figure trust for Harlow.

“She is a heiress to two music dynasties. She’s set for life,” a Star insider whispers.

Nicole Richie has been ordered to stop breastfeeding her six month-old daughter, Harlow.

Doctors fear the socialite is “losing far too much weight” through nursing and have warned the new mom that allowing Harlow to continue latching on could put her hospital, one tabloid report claims.

Nicole Richie hit the roof after Joel Madden announced plans to tattoo a snapshot of the couple’s six month-old daughter Harlow on one of his teeth.

“Joel promised Nicole the he wouldn’t get anymore tattoos,” according to a Star mole, who claims a friend suggested tooth tattooing to Joel. “…When Joel told Nicole he wanted to get their daughter Harlow’s face tattooed on one of his front teeth, she shrieked, ‘Absolutely not.’”
