A blast from the not-so-distant past is headed back to the halls of Seattle Grace.
Mandy Moore will reprise her role as Mary — a part she originated in the two-part Season 6 finale — in at least one episode the upcoming seventh season of Grey’s Anatomy, TV Guide said Friday.

Katherine Heigl has submitted her name for consideration in the supporting actress category of this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards.
Last winter, Heigl exited her role as Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens mid-season after a harrowing storyline that saw her character stricken with cancer. The star has enjoyed a lengthy love-hate relationship with the show that landed her an Acting Emmy in 2007 and only appeared in a handful episodes before departing Seattle Grace for good in March.
Nominations for the 62nd Primetime Emmys will be announced July 8.

Mandy Moore is checking into Seattle Grace, TVGuide.com reported Friday. The 25-year-old singer-actress has been tapped to appear as a patient on the two-hour season finale of ABC’s medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. Mandy will play Mary, an ill young woman being treated by Chandra Wilson’s Dr. Bailey, on the May 20 finale.
