Green Day’s American Idiot Musical seems bound for Broadway.
The critically-acclaimed punk rock opera is currently playing an extended world-premiere run at Rep’s Roda Theatre in Berkeley, CA, through Nov. 15, but an adaptation of the show is currently in pre-production for a debut on New York’s Great White Way.

“There is a Broadway future for the show, but at this time no dates or theatre are confirmed,” spokesman Michael Hartman told Playbill.com on Nov. 9.
Too early for New Years Eve plans? Not for Green Day. The punk-rock trio will be ringing in 2010 with Carson Daly.

Pink and Green Day are set to perform during the star-studded 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

“Last year I got to jump out of a window at the VMAs in LA. This year I can’t wait to blow the roof off Radio City in New York,” says Pink, who joins Taylor Swift and Muse as part of this year’s show lineup.
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong added: “We are excited to be performing at the Video Music Awards. You never know what’s going to happen, and it’s always a memorable experience for us.”
Katy Perry, Ne-Yo, Chace Crawford have already been confirmed as presenters, while British comedian Russell Brand will reprise his hosting duties for the second year in a row.
The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from New York City on Sunday, September 13.
