Diane Sawyer is leaving Good Morning America. Sawyer bids farewell to her post at GMA as she prepares to join Brian Williams and Katie Couric in the nightly news race in January. Sawyer will be replacing Charlie Gibson on ABC’s World News, Media Bistro has learned.
“Diane’s presence will certainly be missed on Good Morning America. But we are fortunate that both Charlie and Diane will remain with their current broadcasts for the next four months,” ABC News president David Westin said in a statement Wednesday.
Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin will break his silence (When has shut up long enough to break his silence?) about his separation from estranged wife Kate in his first TV interview since the couple filed for divorce in June after ten years of marriage.
“I took a lot of abuse from her,” the reality dad tells Good Morning America’s Chris Cuomo in an interview that will air September 8 on ABC. “She called me, almost like, a lame fish … like, I wasn’t going anywhere,” Jon explains. “Well, excuse me, I’m having to take care of the kids. She’s on book tours, she’s doing all these other things. … I’m standing there like, ‘Your mom is gone again.’”

On a balmy Tuesday afternoon in New York City, Whitney Houston celebrated the debut of her eagerly-awaited comeback album, I Look To You, with an action-packed performance for ABC’s Good Morning America in Central Park.
On Friday, Aug. 28, reality dad Jon Gosselin sat down with ABC’s Good Morning America for his first television interview following his split from estranged wife Kate Gosselin.
During the interview, which is scheduled to air in the next week, the star of TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 is reportedly, candid about Kate and the future of their TLC series, an E! source blabs.
Whitney Houston will not be singing live during in performance on ABC’s Good Morning America next month because “she is not a morning person.”

Ms. Whitney will visit GMA to promote her first album in seven years, I Look To You, but instead of singing live, the singer’s performance will be pre-taped the day before.
“Lots of singers don’t like to perform at 7:30 in the morning,” a GMA production insider tells The NY Post.
While less established stars would be forced to perform live, Houston is such an industry icon that the producers would deny her wishes.
“She’s the music ‘get’ of the season. They are so happy to have her,” said the source.
