“The Promise” just bagged Girls Aloud their first Brit Awards gong in the group’s seven year history. The single track was named the year’s Best British Single at the 2009 BRIT Awards in London on Wednesday night.

Girls Aloud are in talks for their own talk show on Britain’s BBC television network, a new tabloid report claims. The UK girl group, which consists of members Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding and Cheryl Cole, has been offered $1 million to host a chatfest called An Audience With Girls Aloud, in which the girls will interview fellow celebrities.
“The girls are yet to sign, but they have all agreed to it. They would each be paid $40,000 per show. The band is going strong and they all want to commit to it 100%,” a source tells Heat Magazine.
Girls Aloud have premiered their first commercial ad for Kit Kat’s new Senses bar. The British girl group was announced as the new face of the chocolate chain in March.
