George Michael has been arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after being involved in a car crash in England, the BBC reports.

The 46-year-old former Wham! singer was taken into custody after his Land Rover and another vehicle collided. After being held for five hours and questioned, he was released.

In 2007, Michael pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and had his licene suspended for two years.

Eighties pop star George Michael will perform on tonight’s Season Finale of American Idol 7, show producers confirmed late Wednesday. The former Wham singer will join a scheduled list of finale performers that already includes the 2008 American Idol Top Ten and American Idol 4 champ Carrie Underwood, who will perform her latest single “Last Name.”
