Although her debut collection for the brand was a critical flop, Ungaro’s CEO Mounir Moufarriage insists Lohan is still wanted by the label and slams rumors claiming the Mean Girls actress is on her last leg at the company.
“As we speak, she is in New York in shoots with Ungaro. The decision to appoint her was controversial, but then fashion is controversial anyway, and you need some novelties and you need to test some new ideas,” the designer told Women’s Wear Daily this week.

Moufarriage believes Lindsay’s association with the label has already helped increase sales, even though her collection is not yet available in stores.

“There are some girls out there that whenever they move, whatever they wear, they attract attention, even if they make mistakes. It’s all publicity. We’ve got a celebrity and it’s a new concept, which we’re going ahead with. Ungaro, let’s recognise it, was a dormant brand, and now everybody’s talking about it today, so the level of awareness has improved greatly.”

Naeem was among the first designers chosen to submit pieces for The Oval Office’s leading lady. Khan described the two dresses he submitted as “very modern, but based on Indian fabrication,” the designer explained in an interview with The Washington Examiner this week.

“The sari is a big player in the whole game and the colors,” Khan said.

The fashionisto was glad to guests at last night’s State Dinner embracing a “super chic” modernized version of the traditional sari, which Khan features extensively in his Spring and Resort collections.

“Just to twist a little bit of the old way of dressing into the modern is the classy way of doing Indian. I wish a lot of people will do that.”

The “Happy” singer, who in 2008 was voted the “World’s Sexiest Vegetarian” by animal rights group People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals, met with designer Stella – who shares Leona’s views on the use of animal products in fashion – to discuss the possibility of her releasing her own collection products.

Leona, 24, doesn’t wear suede, leather or other animal products, while Stella has been a long-time vegetarian – just like her parents Sir Paul McCartney and the late Linda McCartney.

“I’m on a mission. I’d love to promote a line of non-leather bags and shoes that are affordable. I think more needs to be available and not so expensive,” a friend told Britain’s Daily Mirror after a conversation with the X-Factor singer. “There’s so much I want to do. I’ve always wanted to have my own fashion line, and that’s something I want to focus on next year.”

The source added: “Leona and Stella get on like a house on fire. They met at the recent Children In Need charity show at London’s Royal Albert Hall. They are both vegetarians, don’t wear leather and are huge animal lovers. The line would be very animal friendly.”

“We’re actually really offended. The tables have turned and now we’re the customer,” a spokesperson for Kitson told FOX News Sunday. “We spent $50,000 on her leggings line, but she hasn’t come to the store in three years, and she didn’t even do a personal appearance. She should have brought cookies for the staff to thank them for selling her leggings because she does nothing. We don’t know if we’ll continue to carry them.”

Last year, Victoria Beckham was treated to a similar public hazing by Kitson officials after the store dropped her DVB denim line due to a lack of promotional appearances by the star.

Earlier this month, one snooping paparazzo snapped the tot wearing a pair of open toe heels about an inch high, while clutching a cup from Starbucks (Is she three or thirty?) — but experts fear wearing heels at such an early age can be harmful for Suri’s physical growth.

“A common side effect of adults wearing heels too often is the tightening or shortening of the Achilles tendon,” New York-based podiatrist Dr. Oliver Zong told FOX News Friday. “At Suri’s age, children are growing quickly, and you want everything growing at the same rate. If the tendon is not growing at the same rate as everything else, it could become a problem,” he added.

In recent weeks, the pint-sized fashionista has joined mom Katie in rocking starter heels all over Boston while dad Tom is hard at work filming scenes for a new movie nearby.

“If a parent allows their child to wear the heels in moderation, that’s one thing, but who’s to say what is moderate for a three year old child,” Dr. Zong explained. “With an adult, [high] heels that don’t fit properly can lead to hammer toes or bunions, but an adult’s growth plate is closed. With a child that young, her growth plate is still open, so a pair of heels that is too tight could damage the growing bones of her feet.”

Klum, 36, who gave birth to her fourth child just six weeks ago, had only been tapped to host the show but ultimately decided to walk the runway at last night’s showing, much to the delight of the crowd.

Wearing a corset and full skirt, the new mom smiled as she slowly took the runway for the surprise appearance. The event was the hottest ticket in the Big Apple, as the beautiful Victoria’s Secret Angels showed off elegant lingerie. The audience was packed with celebrities including Dr Dre and The Black Eyed Peas.

Earlier this month, Ungaro himself, who hasn’t had any contact with the house that bears his name since leaving in 2005, panned Lohan’s work for the brand an “embarassment.” Apparently, he isn’t alone. Ungaro’s chairman, Asim Abdullah, reportedly wants Lohan gone and is trapped in a bitter battle with CEO Mounir Moufarrige, who hired the former box office “Mean Girl.”

“Asim wants her out now,” a fashion insider who has seen e-mails between the two executives tells Page Six. “Department stores in the States have already told him they won’t be picking up the line if Lohan remains a collaborator, so it’s a serious issue.”

Shabayeva edged out runners-up Carol Hannah Whitfield and Althea Harper to take top honors on the show’s second consecutive all-female finale.

Shabayeva, 27, the daughter of immigrants from the Republic of Georgia who moved their family to Brooklyn, impressed the show’s judges with an edgy collection of 13 looks shown at New York’s Fashion Week earlier this year. The designer said she was inspired by “what it takes to survive in the city as a woman.”

“Your line was sleek, modern, cohesive and it told a story,” Heidi Klum, the show’s host and one of its judges, told Irina.

In an interview with the fashion website Women’s Wear Daily this week, Moss revealed that one of her mottos is “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.”

“There are loads,” she told the site of her mottos. “There’s, ‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’ That’s one of them. You try and remember, but it never works.”

The mantra happens to be the same one championed by anorexics and bulimics worldwide.
