Slim Shady is set to take the stage at the 18th Annual MTV Movie Awards.
Rap star Eminem will make his long-awaited comeback with a live performance at this year’s ceremony, the network confirmed on Monday. Em is scheduled to release his new LP, Relapse, the first of two albums coming to fans in 2009, on May 19.
The 2009 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by SNL’s Andy Samberg, will air on Sunday, May 31 at 9 p.m. on MTV. Presenters and additional performers will be announced at a later date.
Amy Winehouse may have brought the recent razing from Eminem on herself after she reportedly snubbed the rapper’s offer for a collaboration. Read the rest of this entry »

Earlier this month, Hip Hop Crunch dished on the new book My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem, a new tell-all penned by Eminem’s estranged mother, Debbie Nelson. (Since Em hasn’t had a hit in years, we think Deb would have had more luck releasing this book back in 2002. At this point, who cares? Next time get faster ghostwriters.) We now hear that Debbie is dying of breast cancer and is spilling secrets of her son’s not so underpriviledged childhood and bipolar nature to secure funds for her medical bills. Eminem is taking ex-wife Kim Mathers to court in an effort to make her shut up because he doesn’t like the “derogatory, disparaging, inflammatory, and otherwise negative comments” that she dishes out about the rapper in interviews.
He’s apparently worried that her remarks will hurt their daughter.
Because, you know, that song he did once about killing Kim and everything, that won’t traumatize their daughter at all.
