Page — who earned a Best Actress Oscar nod for her role in the 2008 comedy Juno — has signed on with HBO to pen a envelope-pushing series with fellow young actors, Alia Shawkat and Sean Tillmann. Stitch N’ Bitch focuses on two hipster girls as they relocate from Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood to Los Angeles’ Silver Lake enclave in hopes of becoming artists…..

The three worked together as roller girls in Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut Whip It, now in theaters. Page plays the lead, and Shawkat co-stars. Tillmann has a small role.

Ellen Page combated rumors that she is a lesbian during a leg-slapping skit during her SNL hosting gig over the weekend.

“It was awesome, I felt like I was an flame that had never been lit – now I’m finally burning bright with sister fire,” Ellen said. “There were so many cute short haircuts and I didn’t care that I didn’t have any makeup on. I felt so free.”

Her boyfriend in the sketch replied: “You’ve so gone gay.”

Ellen said: “Gay, no way! … But I don’t really know what you mean by that though. Why does everything have to have a label?”
