Ellen: “Oprah Will Always Be The Queen Of Daytime…”

Emmy-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is among the Hollywood notables sounding off on Oprah Winfrey’s decision to step down from her throne as the most enterprising mogul in the history of modern television. Ellen took to her stage on Thursday to tell her audience about Oprah’s decision to end The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011, wrapping up 25 years of groundbreaking television. The comedienne is finding it hard to imagine a world without Oprah.

“I don’t think I could be here without her. I think she has blazed a trail,” said Ellen, who added that Oprah phoned her this afternoon to break the news. The ladies bonded after Ellen’s dogged pursuit to get on the cover of O Magazine earlier this year. Her dream finally came true when Oprah invited the star to join her on the holiday-themed December 2009 issue, now on newsstands.

“She will always be the queen of daytime television,” El remarked, before adding, “She also said she is leaving me all of her money.”

Last March, Oprah appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to grant one of Ellen’s wildest dreams — to appear on the cover of O Magazine — and it’s finally happening!

Ellen’s covers the December issue of O! The holiday-themed “Get Your Glow On!” issue arrives on newsstands Nov. 12. Ellen will also stop by Oprah this Monday to talk about life with wife Portia and her new job as a judge on American Idol.

“When Ellen arrived at the photo shoot for our cover, I didn’t have to ask her how she was doing: it showed on her face,” Oprah says. “She radiated the kind of peace and satisfaction that comes only when you’re living at your highest potential.”

A Tale of Two Taylors: Taylor Swift is talking about her Saturday Night Live hosting debut — about her rumored relationship with New Moon star Taylor Lautner.

On Thursday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a blushing Taylor couldn’t help but giggle when asked about her alleged romance with Taylor.

Swift, 19, and Lautner, 17, have sparked whispers that they are an item after the teens were spotted at an L.A. Kings game over the weekend. In July, the Taylors locked lips for a scene in the upcoming romantic comedy Valentine’s Day.

“I want a baby,” Knight confessed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday. “I don’t know if it’s going to end up working out, but that would be something I would like.”

Ellen DeGeneres Defends Her Right To Judge “American Idol”

She’s made headlines for replacing Paula Abdul on the judges’ panel of the ninth season of American Idol, and on Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the comedienne is taking on critics who have questioned how qualified she is to judge TV’s top-rated singing competition.

“Apparently, there’s a lot of debate going on right now, whether I’m qualified or not to be the new judge on ‘American Idol’… I’ll tell you right now, how I know I’m going to be a great judge — because I’ve spent my whole life being judged. So, I know what it’s like. So, I will be kind. I will be compassionate. I will be empathetic, and I will be truthful. I will be an honest judge without being mean,” Ellen told her audience.

“I’m very excited to be on the show. I will tell you that right now,” she added. “I just continue to be excited every single day. I knew people would have opinions, and I did not want to know what they were because why should I take that stuff in? I try not to watch anything that I think is going to be talking about me….”

She continued, “But the things that people are saying. … I thought America had moved past this. First, we have the first African American President. We’ve sworn in our first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice. I think American Idol is ready for there first blonde judge.”

The new season of American Idol kicks off in January 2010 on FOX.

The country-singing chicken farmer beat out the operatic sounds of crowd favorite Barbara Padilla to take the $1 million grand prize. Nonetheless, the shy husband and father will headline the AGT stage show, hosted by Jerry Springer and opening on the Las Vegas strip next month.

Paula Abdul Spoofs Ellen DeGeneres On “VH1 Divas”

Paula Abdul spoofed Ellen DeGeneres in good humor at the VH1 Divas! Live Concert at the Howard Gilman Ballroom in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday night. Last week, FOX and producers of American Idol announced that the Emmy-winning DeGeneres would replace Paula as a judge on the upcoming season of the ratings juggernaut.

As part of the spot-on parody, Paula sported Ellen’s signature daily uniform of a blazer with trousers and sneakers, before taking the stage to perform medley of her hits during her hosting gig of the music special.

“Why y’all staring at me? Can’t a girl try out a new job?” Paula joked. “All kidding aside, nothing but love Ellen and I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your new gig.”

Ellen also offered to help Ellen handle the daunting task of sitting next to judge Simon Cowell. “You have to call me if you have any Simon problems because I know him best.”
