Arvel Jett Reeves was sentenced to 8 months in prison on Monday for secretly taping pop star Michael Jackson as he traveled to Santa Barbara to surrender in a child molestation investigation.
In addition to prison time, Reeves was ordered to pay 1,000 dollars in damages and ordered to complete a six month stint in a halfway house that offers drug and rehabilitation programs. Reeves co-defendant, Jeffrey Borer, and Reeves himself admitted installing two digital video recorders to videotape Jackson and his laywer as they flew on a private jet in November 2003.
While not cited by name in Reeves and Borer’s plea agreements, the tapes were of Michael Jackson and his attorney, Mark Geragos. Jackson was eventually acquitted of all charges stemming from the child molestation case.
Borer said he had intended to “sell these recordings to the media” for a large sum of money.”

Kirsten Dunst and Jake Gylldenhaal were out and about together on Saturday enjoying the nice weather. The good news is that they look really happy. The bad news, unfortunately, has three parts:
1. Even Jake Gyllenhaal can’t pull off the “my pants are half off and I’m wearing very functional underwear” look.
2. It’s summer, Kirsten. Why are you wearing grubby looking grey socks with a manly blazer and loafers? One or two elements stolen from a guy’s wardrobe can be cute, but this look is just plain gloomy.
3. Jake may or may not be about to spill their coffee.
Also notable: As cheerful as Kirsten seems to be in these photos, she can apparently get a little snappy. According to the New York Daily News via MSN, Dunst “seemed to be in a mood” recently during at night out at Hyde, an L.A hotspot. Dunst reportedly turned to a woman nearby, a stranger, and said “Your face looks really puffy.” Nice. Now that’s the kind of girl I want to go clubbing with.

Janet Jackson, whose upcoming album 20 Years Old is slated for release September 26, has apparently changed her mind about children.
“I would love to have kids,” Jackson, 40, reported on Friday during an Atlanta news conference. Apparently, her relationship with producer boyfriend Jermaine Dupri has prompted her to rethink her ideas about raising children.
“I never thought I would ever want any, but being with Jermaine really changed my mind on all that,” Jackson said. “I wouldn’t mind adopting.”
While Jackson’s first two marriages failed, she seems confident about her relationship with Dupri. “I’ve always wanted to find love. Now that I found love, I’m in a different space,” Jackson professes.
While the pop star seems to have a family-friendly attitude about her now, her upcoming album still has the same sexually-charged lyrics you can find on her previous work.
“I enjoy talking about it, it shouldn’t be any different than before.” Well, I think we know where Janet stands!

On August 20th, Kevin Federline will get the chance to show his music to the world. He will be at the Teen Choice Awards where he will close the ceremony with his single “Lose Control” from the impending album Playing with Fire.
Federline, an aspiring rapper and husband to Britney Spears, says the audience will be “shocked” by his performance. “It’s been building up for a long time… so I decided to just get out there and jump on stage,” he says.
Britney Spears will reportedly accompany her husband to the event provided she is feeling well enough. They’ve also been collaborating on a duet in the studio in recent months.
“I want to prove myself as an artist, as a rapper, and as a human being in society who goes through everything everybody else goes through,” Federline reported.

Haley Joel Osment, 18 was hospitalized this morning following a car crash.
The former Sixth Sense star reportedly crashed his car into a pillar and flipped the vehicle, according to the Associated Press.
Osment was driving near his Los Angeles home at about 1 a.m. when he lost control of his car, a 1995 Saturn says a spokesperson for the L.A. County Sheriff. Apparently Osment was “alert and talkative” following the accident and was rushed to Huntington Hospital for treatment.
Nominated for an Academy Award for his work in The Sixth Sense in 1999, he’ll next appear as a high school journalist in the film Home of the Giants.

Janet Jackson is preparing to release a new album, 20 Years Old and has a fabulous idea for a cover art design contest. This is one of the shots for the cover art. Like her brother, her looks seem to be slowly shifting with time. Not that she isn’t attracive (some of the other cover art shots are amazing), but what happened to the curvy woman with the big hair? Can’t you have a flat tummy and a real nose?
This shot in particular bothers me. She looks so vacant, and the bone structure and clothes remind me of … someone. Maybe Jessica Simpson trying to be classy? I just can’t place it …
In a recent interview with the London Times, Patrick Swayze talks about life, acting, and his dislike of “crappy” sequels.
In 1994, Swayze turned down a $7 million offer to star in a sequel to 1987’s Dirty Dancing because the script was terrible. “If the sequel had not been a stupid, formulaic piece of junk, I probably wouldn’t have turned down a fortune,” said Swayze. “Same with ‘Ghost.’ Whoopi, Demi and I had to turn it down.”
Even if he wanted to do a sequel, at this point it’s probably just a bad idea. Swayze is 53 years old and most of his frame was rebuilt with titanium after being paralyzed in a 1997 horseback riding accident. “I am the new $6m man,” says Swayze. ” I trigger alarm bells on metal detectors.”
Something tells me it just wouldn’t be the same.
The British edition of popular tabloid National Enquirer has issued an apology to Britney Spears for reporting she was divorcing her husband, Keven Federline.
The issues came out June 5th and 12th, under blaring headlines that Britney’s marriage was over to Federline and divorce was imminent.
“Contrary to what our articles might have suggested, we now accept that their marriage is not over,” a spokesperson for the tabloid reported. “We apologize for any distress caused.”
It’s no wonder London is dubbed the libel capital of the world, because it’s much easier to prove “contentious information” there than it is to win a libel suit in the United States.
There has been much scrutiny lately around Spears, 24, especially regarding her marriage and parenting skills. After admitting to being an emotional wreck during a television interview, let’s hope the girl can keep it together for baby number two on the way.

That sexy twosome, Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra have announced that they are “amicably separating,” rep Jill Fritzo reported earlier this week.
When the actress and rock god married November 23rd, 2003 rumours constantly circulated that the couple were heading for trouble. Electra and Navarro adamantly denied that things were getting rocky.
“We’re FINE!” Electra told People magazine in April, the month Scary Movie 4 premiered in New York. Incidentally, Navarro showed up to the premiere to support his wife. “If there were trouble,” she said, “I wouldn’t have my ring on. I would not walk around and pretend.”
The second marriage for Electra and the third for Navarro, Electra was said to have joked at her 2003 nuptials that she “thought [she'd] never marry a guy who looked in the mirror more than [she] did.”
