Carrie, 26, reveals on the pages of the December issue of Lucky Magazine: “I like pairing cowboy boots with unexpected things, like cute dresses. You can be ‘country’ and still be stylish – I would wear them regardless of what kind of music I sang.”

However, Carrie isn’t quite brave enough to take on many of Dolly’s glittery outfits.

“I would never attempt to pull off Dolly’s wardrobe, but her confidence is enviable. She always makes it work!”

Pal Jessica Simpson, who is also known for her ample bosom, chimed in: “Amen, sister!” she wrote on her own account.

After 148 performances, 9 To 5: The Musical will close on Broadway this September.

The show, which opened at Manhattan’s Marriott Marquis Theatre on April 30, will halt production on Sept. 26.

Dolly says she couldn’t be more proud of the show’s reception on the Great White Way.

The Queen of Country is paying homage to the King of Pop.

Dolly Parton has paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson in a video diary posted online Tuesday.

The 63-year-old country music legend recalls Michael as a “musical genius,” who she dubs an angel.

“We lost a true music legend,” she says. “This is a sad time for music lovers everywhere.

“I knew Michael and he really was a true musical genius and a fantastic performer and a really sweet, sweet soul,” Dolly continued. “I always thought Michael had the heart of an angel and I’m sure he’s rejoicing with them now. He’ll live on through his music.”

Dolly ended the tribute with a photograph of herself and a young Michael Jackson in the 1980s.

Michael Jackson passed away last Thursday after suffering a heart attack at his Los Angeles home.

Country singer Dolly Parton surprised hundreds of Girl Scouts in her homestate of Tennessee on Saturday when she made an appearance at a ceremony presenting them with a patch created in her honor.

Dolly — a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts — appeared on stage at the Pines Theatre in Pigeon Forge, where 400 Girl Scouts were receiving the new “Coat of Many Colors” patch. The patch requires Scouts to help others, then design a collage of what makes them special.

The singing legend wore her own uniform as she hugged and chatted with the girls.

Dolly, who collaborated with Jessica on her 2008 country album Do You Know, is defending her fellow buxom blonde, insisting she has been victimized by the media.

“I say people always treat her bad. They always talk bad about her. I just recorded a song with her a few months ago. And I’ve never had – I’ve never been around a person any sweeter in my life. And she’s a great singer,” the “9 To 5″ star said in an interview with CNN’s Larry King on Thursday.

“And I’ve been fat and I’ve been skinny. And I’m not about to say something about somebody else’s weight because I know how hard it is when you gain, you know, five or six pounds, and certainly 10 or 12…”

She added, “But I know that Jessica is a good girl. She’s beautiful to me. And I’m sure that she’s going to get some weight off just because people won’t leave her alone.”

Dolly also defended Jessica stage antics: “I think every entertainer’s had nights when things go wrong. I mean you can’t remember everything all the time, and especially if you’re having hard times personally.”

There’ll be no one screaming “Hello, Aunt Dolly!” when Hannah Montana: The Movie opens in theaters next month.

Dolly Parton was cut from Miley Cyrus’s movie upcoming Hannah Montana movie.

“I’m not in the movie,” the 63-year-old country legend said in an interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday. “I wish I had been.”

Dolly claims producers asked her early on if she would reprise her recurring role as “Aunt Dolly” on television’s Hannah Montana in the eagerly-anticipated film adaptation, due in theaters April 10.

“I said I would love to! I assumed that they were gonna be writing me a part.”

But her character was not included in the final script.

Although she’s disappointed about the movie snub, Ms. Dolly says she’s tickled pink when little kids come up to her and say “Hi, Aunt Dolly!”

Pop superstars Leona Lewis and Justin Timberlake will duet on a new cover of Dolly Parton’s 1974 hit “I Will Always Love You.”

The ballad, which bemoans the lost of a great love, was made platinum for a second time in 1992 when singer/actress Whitney Houston lent her powerhouse vocals to a revamped version of jam, which served as the lead single off The Bodyguard Official Soundtrack.

According to spywitnesses for Britain’s The Sun, Leona, who’s debut single “Bleeding Love” became an international smash in 2007, will team up with “SexyBack” star J.T. to cover the track for the third time.

“They will record the track in the next few months and are just waiting for a period when they’re both free to go into the studio. Leona and Justin are huge fans of each other’s music and are raring to go.”

“Your fans have actually said that they think you should run for office someday. That you should run for president. That’s how much your fans believe in you. Is that something you’d even be interested in? To run for office?”
