Oscar-nominated actress Diane Lane has accepted the role of Clark Kent’s adoptive mother Martha Kent in the upcoming Superman reboot, according to director Zack Synder. The new gig sees the Unfaithful actress tackling a role Eva Marie Saint in the 2006 Superman flick, Superman Returns.
Lane, 46, is the first star to join the cast of Superman: Man of Steel since Henry Cavill, 27, (Photographed Above…) landed the role of Clark/Superman last month.

Josh Brolin has prompted scandalous chatter that he may be cheating on his actress wife after he spent the night out partying with a fan.
In Touch Weekly claims the Milk star, who is married to actress Diane Lane, was spotted “getting cozy” with a female fan at bars in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he’s filming his new movie Jonah Hex — co-starring Megan Fox. Josh allegedly partied with Melissa Green at the Royal Street Inn and another establishment over the Memorial Day weekend and the two left early the following morning, the tabloid claims.
“They left together. Josh looked like he hadn’t slept at all. She was wearing the same outfit as the night before and looked embarrassed,” says an eyewitness.
