Diablo Cody, the stripper-turned-writer who has penned treatments for Showtime’s United States of Tara, the 2009 box office stinker Jennifer’s Body, and the Oscar-winning film Juno, welcomed her first son this week.
“We had our boy early this morning! Marcello Daniel Maurio, 7lbs, 2 oz, lightly mustachioed,” the 32-year-old Tweeted Tuesday.
The Oscar-winner announced her pregnancy and marriage to Dan Maurio, who works on the staff of E!’s Chelsea Lately, in April.
Diablo’s United States of Tara recently wrapped its second season, leaving the new mom with lots of free time to adapt Francine Pascal’s Sweet Valley High book series into a motion picture.

Diablo Cody is in talks to adapt the Sweet Valley High literary series for the big screen, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
The former exotic dancer, who won an Oscar for penning the snarky screenplay to the 2008 film Juno, is attached to write a screenplay for the long-running series of teen-oriented books which was adapted into a TV drama in the mid-1990s.
The Sweet Valley High series, penned by Francine Pascal, centered on the lives of identical twins Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield, the Fiat convertible, and their high school exploits in the fictional town of Sweet Valley, California. More than 150 titles were published between 1983 and 2003.
