After attending the premiere of One Peace At A Time, Dennis, wife Kimberly and a friend left Philippe where he allegedly had too much to drink, according to RadarOnline. Dennis got behind the wheel of the car when a police car pulled up alongside side the actor’s car and urged the 55-year-old actor to not drive.

In fact, officers repeatedly told the actor, “Get out of the car.”

Instead, the party returned the restaurant and called a taxi. Good call, guys!

“You don’t want a DUI. You don’t want to end up like Mel Gibson,” screamed the waiting paparazzi.

Actor Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly have been awarded $750,000 after a hospital blunder that left their infant twins fighting for their lives last year.

The couple reached the settlement against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for the accidental overdose of newborns Thomas and Zoe, who were mistakenly given a near-fatal amount of blood thinner Heparin and spent days battling for their lives.

The twins have since recovered.

According to papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday: “The settlement is the result of extensive negotiations between the parties and their respective legal representatives, and is intended to avoid the time, expense and uncertainty of litigation.”

Dennis Quaid is firing back at comments ex-wife Meg Ryan made regarding their 2000 divorce in the October issue of In Style. Dennis is livid over Meg’s allegations that he was not faithful to her “for a very long time.”

“It was eight years ago,” he tells the New York Daily News. “I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship.”

Dennis says it is “regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded in a public way of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce.”

The Dennis Quaid/Kimberly Quaid 60 Minutes special we told you about last month will air on CBS this Sunday. The actor and his wife will chronicle the trauma of nearly losing their infant twins after braindead bozos at L.A’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center mistakenly gave them an overdose.

In the interview, which is set to air on Sunday night at 7 p.m. on CBS, Dennis says: “They happen in every hospital in every state in this country and … I’ve come to find out, there’s 100,000 people a year killed … in hospitals by a medical mistakes. It’s bigger than AIDS. It’s bigger than breast cancer. It’s bigger than automobile accidents and yet, no one seems to be really aware of the problem.”

Twins Boone and Zoe were born on November 8, 2007, but returned to the hospital after coming down with staph infections. While hospitalized, the babies were accidentally administered 1,000 times the necessary dose of a blood thinning medication used to flush out IV lines. Thankfully, Boone and Zoe are doing much better now.

“We all have this inherent thing that we trust doctors and nurses, that they know what they’re doing,” Dennis tells the newsmagazine. “This mistake occurred right under our noses … the nurse didn’t bother to look at the dosage on the bottle. It was avoidable, completely avoidable.”

Dennis Quaid will discuss that medical nightmare that nearly killed his newborn twins in a March 2008 interview with CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes.

Quaid’s twin infantsm Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace, were left fighting for their lives after were mistakenly given 1,000 times the normal 10-unit dose of blood-thinning drug Heparin at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles shortly after their birth last November.

The Great Balls of Fire star and his wife Kimberly want to warn other parents about potential hospital hazards.

“The kids are doing great now, but it was real scary for a couple of weeks. We really appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers when all this was going on and we really felt them. Something good is really going to come out of it. We are going to talk about it on 60 Minutes in March.”

Dennis Quaid has just been cast as the lead in the new toy-turned-action-movie flick G.I. Joe, set to hit theaters in August 2009. According to Variety, Dennis will play team leader General Hawk. Shooting on G.I Joe begins next month.

DENNIS QUAID is suing Baxter Healthcare Corp, the makers of the drug his newborn twins were given an overdose of last month. The Quaids are seeking $50,000 or more.

Quaid’s twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace, were accidentally given massive doses of Heparin, a drug manufactured by Baxter Healthcare Corp., which is used to prevent blood clots.

“I want to extend my deepest apologies to the families who were affected by this situation, and we will continue to work with them on any concerns or questions they may have. This was a preventable error, involving a failure to follow our standard policies and procedures, and there is no excuse for that to occur at Cedars-Sinai,” Langberg added. “Although it appears at this point that there was no harm to any patient, we take this situation very seriously. We are conducting a comprehensive investigation, cooperating fully with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and will take all necessary steps to ensure that this never happens here again.”
