What’s left for your career when even a venture into reality television ends with raised eyebrows and abysmal ratings? Porn, of course! Avert your pupils now, David Hasselhoff has been cast as a retired adult film star on FX’s Sons of Anarchy. The singer/actor/talent show who never found a pair of Speedos he wasn’t dying to fill out will take on the role of Dondo, “a well-endowed former porn star who is now making major coin by producing sleazy girl-on-girl adult films,” when the show returns with all new episodes in October.
Yeah — 2011 is not the year for career advancement if your name happens to be David Hasselhoff. Earlier this year, the Knightrider alum ventured across the pond to accept a role on the popular UK talent show Britain’s Got Talent after his ill-fated reality show, The Hasselhoffs, was axed from the A&E lineup after just two episodes. Now it appears even the British don’t want anything to do with The Hoff. ITN snitches cite spywitnesses who say Talent producer Simon Cowell plans to fire David after the show’s finale this month following a devastated loss in viewers.
What’s that old saying? You know, the one about closed doors and open windows?
“When God closes a door, He opens a window…”
Ah — that’s it. A good ohem for PopCrunchers. A good ohem for former Knightrider David Hasselhoff.
The ex-Baywatch hunk will join UK beauty Amanda Holden and British comedian Michael McIntyre on the next season of the ITV1 talent show, Britain’s Got Talent.
