David Beckham was left fuming after he was held up for three hours at Los Angeles International Airport last Thursday.

The soccer ace was flying home from a match in London last week and was detained while his 12 bags were searched by officials, a source tells Britain’s The Sun newspaper.

“David wasn’t pleased. He ranted at airport security. He even asked his handlers to do something but there was nothing they could do.”

Victoria’s long-time pal Taylor Clyne claims TomKat has been bumped from the No. 1 spot on The Beckhams list of celebrity friends. Ironically, the soccer ace and the fashion-forward former Spice Girl were once so close to Tom and Katie that Tom inspired the name of the youngest of the couple’s three sons, Cruz Beckham. But the days of family fun days at L.A. Galaxy games are over for The Beckhams and The Cruises, who rarely see one another.

“Victoria and David have moved on from Tom and Katie,” Taylor tattles in the Sept. 21 issue of NW Magazine. “They used to do everything together, but now they only meet up very occasionally. Now, they’re hanging with Demi and Ashton … They’ve expanded their social network.”

David Beckham is set to team up with California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for a television ad promoting tourism in the cash-strapped state.

In the commercial, the soccer icon will reportedly be seen playing the sport on a Los Angeles beach.

The Sun reports: “It will be a massive campaign. It shows the governor believes David is a big catch in getting tourists to visit.”

Tom Cruise has reportedly been counseling his good friends David and Victoria Beckham on maintaining a happy marriage while managing their careers.

“After an evening with David, Tom decided to have a friendly chat with Victoria about the family’s future, saying it was because he cared so much about all of them,” a source revealed to The Daily Express over the weekend.
