David, now 18, is considering putting his promising recording career on hold to care for his younger siblings as their parents battle it out in divorce court, sources close to the singer dish in the new edition of The National Enquirer.

The teen heartthrob is rumored to be concerned about how his three siblings — Daniel, 15, Melissa, 13, and Amber, 10, — are handling the split and is pondering taking a break from recording to focus on helping his family heal.

“David is talking about putting his career on the back burner while he focuses on helping his brother and sisters cope with the divorce,” says an Archie insider. “He doesn’t care how long it takes — he wants to make sure his mom and brother and sisters are OK.”

David’s father, James, filed for divorce from Lupe Archuleta earlier this year, just days after he was busted during a police raid on a massage parlor in Midvale, Utah. The couple previously filed for divorce in 2002, but later reconciled. This time, there’s little hope for a happy ending. Citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, the couple will share joint physical custody of their three minor children.

“The embarrassment over Jeffrey’s arrest was the final straw. This time David knows he can’t save his parents’ marriage, and it is killing him,” the insider added. “In the meantime, David is doing everything he can to hold his brother and sisters together.”

Of course, complicating matter futher are Lupe’s claims that Jeffrey is secretly shielding assets.

“If Jeffrey doesn’t come clean in disclosing his financial dealings, their divorce will become a lot nastier than it has already…”

Jeff Archuleta, the notorious stage dad of American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta, was charged with solicitating a prostitute in a massage parlor bust earlier this year, according to a new report from KSTU FOX 13 News, in the family’s homestate of Utah.

According to KSTU, last January, police in Midvale, Utah, raided a massage parlor over business licenses issues on January 14. During the raid, they claim David’s 47-year-old dad, James Jeffrey Archuleta, was caught receiving “prostitution services.”

Eric Bauer, the Archuletas’ attorney, says David’s dad did not have sexual contact with the masseuse. He claims the father of five was visiting the massage parlor for the first time, which he went into for a back problem.

Jeff was slapped with a charge of misdemeanor soliciting prostitution. He pled no contest and was fined $582.

Disney’s Miley Cyrus and American Idol alum David Archuleta have teamed up and lent their vocals to a duet premiering on Disney Radio this weekend.. The new jam “I Wanna Know You,” featuring Miley and Archie, will debut this Saturday, May 2 @ 6PM ET/3PM PT.

In June, David will hit the road with another Disney star, Sonny With A Chance’s Demi Lovato, for a two-month summer tour.

On Wednesday night, American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta returned to the stage that made him a star for a live performance of his single “Touch My Hand.”

In other Idol news, Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai were sent home as Disco Week drew to a close.

American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta is headed back to Idol just in time for Disco Week.

On Tuesday, April 21 the Top 7 finalists will perform songs from the disco era. The following Wednesday, David will take the stage to perform his new single, “A Little Too Not Over You,” live.

Disco stars “KC” Casey (of KC and the Sunshine Band), Thelma Houston, and Freda Payne will also be on-hand to perform a medley of their hit ’70s songs, “Get Down Tonight,” “Don’t Leave Me this Way,” and “Band of Gold.”

Demi Lovato and David Archuleta are set to hit the road together this summer. David, American Idol 7 runner-up, and Demi, star of Disney’s Sonny With A Chance, are teaming up for a 47-city tour of North America, which kicks off in Hartford, Conn., on June 21 and wraps up in Manchester, New Hampshire on August 24.

David Archuleta performed the U.S. National Anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” before the NFL Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Sunday.

David Archuleta will perform The National Anthem at the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii on February 8, last season’s American Idol runner-up announced on his MySpace blog on Thursday.

“I’ll be going to Hawaii to sing the National Anthem at the Pro Bowl, and it’ll be my first time in Hawaii! Woot woot!”

David Archuleta has announced the dates for his first solo U.S. tour.

“Archie,” as he is affectionately known to his legion of teen fans, will kick off his first headlining tour of the U.S. since losing the seventh American Idol to crooner David Cook in Virginia Beach, Virginia on February 24.

Since its release in November, David’s self-titled debut album has gone gold, selling more than 500,000 copies.
