After she used funny bone and Midas touch to give Saturday Night Live its highest-ratings in almost two years, campaigns are springing up all over the web to get Emmy-winning darling Betty White even more showbiz gigs.
Not only is Betty, 88, a favorite to host this year’s Emmy Awards, the self-professed “Luckiest Broad on Two Feet” is being courted to join Cloris Leachman and Buzz Aldrin as one of the select few seniors to show off their fancy footwork on Dancing With The Stars.
Well — that was quick! Elisabeth Hasselbeck — the conservative spitfire who puts “The Hassel” in The View — broke down on the gabfest Wednesday, publicly apologizing for controversial — and might we add ridiculous — remarks she made criticizing Erin Andrews and her “skimpy” wardrobe on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.
ESPN reporter Erin Andrews has been the target of death threats, stalking, and even an obsessed Peeping Tom who released secret videotapes of the blonde bombshell in the buff — but these days Andrews is geting some of her harshest criticism from other women.
Take The View’s Elizabeth Hasselbeck, for example. On Tuesday, Lizzie’s conservative Republican views reared their ugly heads once more when she criticized Andrews for wearing “next to nothing” on Dancing With The Stars after being stalked earlier this year.
“I think in light of what happened … and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room … in some way, if I’m him, I’m like, ‘man, I could have just waited 12 weeks… I could have seen this, a little bit less, without the prison time….”
