Dancing With The Stars judge Len Goodman has had surgery to remove a cancerous tumour in his prostate gland.
The 65-year-old underwent an operation three weeks ago at a Bupa Hospital in Blackheath, London.
Len was diagnosed with the disease following a routine check-up in March, but he put off treatment until he had finished filming the current season of DWTS.
“I could have said “sorry” and not done the show, but the doctors felt I wasn’t riddled with it and it wasn’t so far advanced that it was a life-or-death scenario,” Len told the Mail On Sunday.
“It takes a few weeks to get everything set up for the operation anyway, so I went ahead and did the show. I had the surgery done as soon as I got back from America.”

Shawn Johnson’s Dancing With the Stars victory is already is shambles…literally. The mirrored disco ball trophy the pint-sized gymnast received after winning last month’s competition on ABC is currently being repaired after it was damaged while traveling cross-country from New York to Los Angeles.
A crushed Shawn called her partner with the news. “I was like, ‘My trophy’s broke!’”
“It’s actually in pieces right now,” her pro partner, Mark Ballas, revealed at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. “We had to take them to New York and they shipped them back and when they opened the box, they were in pieces,” he continued. “They’re fixing them.”
Shawn throws like a girl…. Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast and reigning Dancing With The Stars champion Shawn Johnson threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the start of the baseball game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, June 1.

Dancing With The Stars pros and real-life couple Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have revealed to PEOPLE.com that they will tie the knot next June.
“If it was just friends and family that would be one thing, but there are so many people telling us, ‘We’ll be there, we want to come!’ So we said, Okay, the wedding is turning out to be a bigger production,” Maksim explains. “We want to take our time. You don’t want to piss anybody off or hurt anybody.”
Maks also announced that he and Karina are looking to hire a wedding planner, telling PEOPLE:
“We are currently interviewing a few wedding planners because we figure we could use professional help.”
Samantha Harris is bound for Broadway.
