Royal Wedding Coverage Has Dan Rather Channeling His Inner Grace Van Cutsem

Prince William and Princess Catherine’s double kiss on the balcony at Buckingham Palace Friday afternoon mesmerized billions – except, of course, for their adorable little bridesmaid Grace van Cutsem. The groom’s goddaughter, age 3, had apparently heard all she cared to about this Royal Wedding fuss and with a grimace and a pout, decided to shove her hands over her ears as thousands cheered for the Royal Couple from the crowd below.
Turns out Grace wasn’t alone in her frustration.
Cantakerous newsman Dan Rather, whose flawed 2004 report on then-President George W. Bush’s tenure in the National Guard led to his fall from grace at CBS, has had it up to his dentures with the ubiquitous media coverage of Wills and Kate’s nups. What’s he talking about? Well, Entertainment Tonight and The Insider sent 70 reporters to London to cover this morning’s wedding. And we haven’t even scratched the surface about the NBC, ABC, anc CBS correspondents who donned funny hats and chowed down on breakfasts of tea and English muffins to cover the happenings across the pond. Overkill, perhaps? Dan sure thinks so. He’s callin the coverage of the blessed union a “week of silliness in April.”
Oh dear…Did someone forget to take his Metamucil?
