Brit has a message for critics of her first tour of Australia after it was reported that fans walked out of the pop star’s Australian performance last weekend, describing it as boring, stiff, and filled with lip-synching.

“I hear there is a lot of controversy in the media about my show,” Spears said in a statement this week. “Some reporters have said they love it and some don’t. I came to Australia for my fans.”

Britney, 27, is rebuilding her career after a high profile meltdown in 2008.

Paul Dainty, the promoter of Spears’ tour, has rushed to her defense.

“Britney is aware of all this and she’s extremely upset by it,” Dainty told The Australian on Monday. “She’s a human being. I’m embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting.”

Dainty says suggestions that fans stormed out of the show as early as the third song after paying between $200 to $1,500 to see the 27-year-old singer are “total fabrication.”

“The band, the management and the promoter apologize that the show must be cancelled on such short notice. We will do everything we can to revisit Zurich in the future and perform for our wonderful fans. Tickets can be refunded as of Monday, 9 November until 31 December 2009 at the presale agency.”

Britney performed to over 17,000 fans at the Perth Burswood Dome last night, but thousands of disgruntled fans — some having paid up to $1,500 per ticket — reportedly stormed out of the Australian debut of The Circus concert, infuriated by the pop singer’s “appalling” performance on stage.

“It was just really bad,’’ Kathy Wright,32, told the Sydney Herald on Friday. “We are really big Britney fans but it was crap,” her friend Josh Blee piped in.

“I thought after the music awards she would make up for it with a wicked concert, but she has let us down,” he said.

Other fans complain they could barely see the show from their seats.

“She is a little dot on the stage,’’ says Maria Camody, who was disappointed that the giant screens peppered throughout the arena did not show any vision of Spears performing.

Britney Spears and her entire “Circus Tour” touched down in Australia Thursday morning.

“Longest flight ever but we had a great time,” Britney Tweeted early Thursday. “Really cool plane and the V staff took great care of us. So excited to be here!”

The pop tart will take the stage in nearby Perth for the first of 15 concerts Down Under on Friday. Tickets are going for up to $1,360 for her shows.

Britney’s Australian “Circus” crewreportedly consists of 225 crewmembers, 45 band members and dancers, and 15 circus performers – plus 150 local workers that are hired in each city that the show plays.

In related news, Chris’ third album Graffiti has been pushed up a week to Dec. 8.

Chris Maxcy, head of music partnerships at YouTube, called the event “a big win” for the site.

The Sony film grossed an estimated $2.2 million at the North American box office during Tuesday night’s limited theater release, Variety reports. This is a record for a Tuesday October release.

On Wednesday, This Is It opened in 3,500 theaters and IMAX screens nationwide, in addition to thousands more overseas.
