The mother of R&B star Rihanna is “devastated” at claims that her daughter reunited with abusive former flame Chris Brown at the Trump International Hotel in Manhattan last weekend.
The Rumor Mill is alive with reports that the “Umbrella” singer is back together with her 20-year-old ex six months after he attacked her during an argument — and only days after he released a video apologizing for the assault.
Rihanna’s mother, Monica Fenty, is furious about the former couple’s alleged latest meeting. “I’m devastated, but what can I do? Rihanna is her own woman with her own mind and very, very independent,” she told Star. “We love her but can’t stand to see her play Russian roulette with her life.”
Ms. Fenty added, “Chris has a bizarre power over her. She still loves him and he knows it. In her eyes, he’s a god. Even after all this time, and even after what he did, it’s not diminished.”
Chris Brown is planning to sit down for his first national television interview discussing the night he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna with CNN’s Larry King Live, RadarOnline has learned.

With more than 11.4 million views on YouTube, the Internet video of a wedding party dancing down the aisle to Chris Brown’s hit single “Forever” has translated into big sales for the embattled crooner and his 2008 track. Digital sales of the song jumped from less than 3,000 the week ending July 19 to 50,000 for the week ending July 26, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In addition, Chris’ last album, Exclusive: Forever Edition, jumped 130% in sales last week.

Chris Brown has reached a plea bargain in his felony assault case.

Chris pleaded guilty to committing felony assault against his pop star ex Rihanna in a brawl last February during a hearing in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday. According to the crooner’s attorney Mark Geragos, was sentenced to five years of supervised probation, two weeks of domestic violence counseling, and six months (180 days) of community service.
Rihanna entered the Los Angeles courtroom after Chris had left and accepted a stay-away order, which prevents her from having any contact Chris until Aug. 5. Chris Brown must also stay at least 50 feet away from the singer.

Chris, 20, has pleaded not guilty to one count of assault and one count of making criminal threats following his alleged domestic assault against Rihanna last February. On Wednesday, Rihanna was subpoenaed by the by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office to testify in Chris’ trial later this month.
