Songbird Alicia Keys — the daughter of an African-American father and an Italian-American mother — tackles the tough issue of interracial dating in the past and present in the video for “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready),” the third single from her hit LP The Element of Freedom. The poignant clip, directed by Jake Nava, co-stars former One True Hill actor Chad Michael Murray as Alicia’s love interest.

The video is a love story taken in snapshots through different time periods, with the underlying premise being that racism has survived through these various eras and its still alive today.

Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, whose One Tree Hill characters, Peyton and Lucas, tied the knot on Monday’s episode, will not be returning for the show’s seventh season next fall, The Los Angeles Times has confirmed.
