They weren’t kidding when they told you not to mess with Texas: Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford has been hit with a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana, stemming from a drug arrest in his hometown of Plano last Friday.

Crawford was arrested early Friday, June, 4, outside Ringo’s Pub with two ounces of pot tucked away in his pocket.

If convicted, Chance faces up to six months in jail and a $2,000 fine.

Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford, 24, was arrested in Plano, Texas just after midnight on Friday after local cops caught TV’s Nate Archibald in possession of an unlit marijuana joint.

Not very Upper East Side of you, Nate.

Spywitnesses say Crawford, known for his preppy-boy role on the small screen, was busted by the authorities while hanging out with pals in the parking lot of a local pub. The native Texan has been charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces.

Chace recently took a walk on the wildside for his forthcoming box office drama, Twelve. Crawford plays a teenage New York City drug dealer whose life gets turned upside down when his cousin is killed and his best friend is arrested for the murder.
