Celine’s husband, René Angélil, 67, has confirmed recent reports claiming the 41-year-old French-Canadian star is not expecting, despite announcing her pregnancy in August. “We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use [IVF]. The process can be long and arduous,” Angélil told Canada’s Journal de Montreal on Wednesday. “But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever.”
Celine Dion has reportedly suffered a miscarriage, an insider close to the French-Canadian singer has confirmed. In Touch Magazine first reported the news that the “My Heart Will Go On” singer is no longer pregnant. “While she and Rene are actively trying for a baby, she is not currently expecting,” a family source told the tabloid.
Celine and husband Rene Angelil had embryos frozen for in-vitro fertilization while trying to conceive her first child, Rene-Charles, in 2001. Earlier this year, Dion was inseminated with one of those embryo that had been frozen in liquid nitrogen for the past eight years.
UPDATE: A rep for Dion has confirmed that the 41-year-old singer is pregnant with her second child. “Celine and René [Angélil] are very happy. They are crazy in love over the news and … they are overjoyed,” reads a statement released to various news outlets on Tuesday.
