Britney Spears is scheduled to present the Top Ten List on tonight’s installment of the Late Show with David Letterman.

If you’re trying to adjust to a life of clean and healthy living, Hollywood wildchild Lindsay Lohan probably isn’t the most ideal sober companion — which is precisely why Britney Spears’ recently-rekindled friendship with the Machete star has The Spears Clan on edge.

The Speares hit the roof as Brit and Linds hit the gossip pages earlier this month; the girls were photographed enjoying a live show at Grand Star Jazz in L.A.’s Chinatown on August 5. Britney has been on her best behavior in the months since suffering an nearly career-ending emotional breakdown, but the star’s handlers are fearful all her hard work could evaporate in a cloud of cigarette smoke if she continues keeping company with the often-troubled Lohan.
“Lindsay’s the pied-piper of partying, so it’s no wonder Britney family was freaked,” a Spears Family spy reveals in the Aug. 24 issue of The National Enquirer. “The last thing Britney needs in her life right now is a friend who lives on the edge.”

Britney Spears’ beauty secret lies in aluminium foil.

The 27-year-old “Womanizer” singer reportedly uses cool strips of the metallic cooking aid to reduce puffiness and swelling, leaving her with smooth skin and the perfect pout.
A Star Magazine Spears Camp source says: “To keep her lips looking perky and fresh, her make-up artist takes a sheet from a stockpile of frozen foil in his freezer, pokes a hole in it so Britney can breath through her mouth and smoothes it over her face.”

Ashley Olsen is amazed she managed to avoid the pitfalls of early stardom, insisting that the pressures of showbusiness should have caused her to have a public breakdown, similar to the one suffered by Britney Spears.
Ashley and her twin sister Mary-Kate have been in the public eye since they were hired as infants to star as Michelle Tanner on the ABC sitcom Full House in 1987.

“I look at Britney, and I’m surprised I didn’t end up like her,” Ashley, now 23, remarks in the September issue of Marie Claire Magazine.
Ashley has taken a vacation from acting, instead turning her focus to nurturing her growing fashion empire. She confesses that her stressful childhood has left her jaded toward showbusiness, “(Growing up) it was almost like I was in the army. School, work, homework, fly to New York, get in at two in the morning, do a morning show at 5am, then another one at seven, then a radio interview at 10.”
