Britney Spears has recorded a song for the upcoming Smurfs sequel.
The “Toxic” songstress recorded the single, titled “Ooh La La,” for the summer blockbuster Smurfs 2, Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation announced Wednesday. Britney originally recorded the tune for her sons, Sean, seven, and Jayden, six, but is ecstatic that it will now be part of the Smurfs 2 soundtrack.
Spears announced the news on both Facebook and Twitter:
“Remember that surprise song I recorded for my boys? It’s coming soon! #OohLaLa for #TheSmurfs2 :)…I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic.”
The song will play during the end credits of the live-action and animated film, which is set to hit theaters July 31.

Pink attempted to distance herself from pop counterpart Britney Spears in the lyrics to her 2002 smash “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” but the outspoken vocalist could be on course to follow in the famous blonde’s footsteps after reportedly entering talks to replace Spears on the forthcoming third season of The X Factor.
