Another freak accident has arrived at Bret Michaels’ doorstep.

The Rock Of Love star was involved in a crash over the holiday weekend after a car spun out of control and slammed into his tour bus. The incident marks Bret’s second scrape with danger in less than a month — coming just weeks after the star sustained a broken nose following his performance at the 63rd Annual Tony Awards in June.

According to a statement on Bret’s Official Website, the former Poison rocker, 46, was en route to St. Paul, Minn., after performing at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheater on Independence Day when a car “lost control and slid into the side of Mr. Michaels’s tour bus causing a five car pile-up on the roadway.”

“Michaels and his immediate crew were released from the scene following an investigation” by authorities, the site post read.

No injuries were reported.

“I am trying to remain very positive and somewhat humorous about the whole situation,” the Rock of Love star wrote in a message on his website late Thursday. “I apologize that I did not make a statement earlier as I have been feeling pretty beat up over the last few days.”

The rocker says, “Over the last few days a lot of speculation as to what happened and who is to blame have surfaced. I need to make clear at no point since the incident occurred do I feel like the accident was malicious in any way and I feel this will all work itself out.”

“However I must state I found it a little strange that the only statement released by the Tony organization was that I missed my mark and that I was completely fine,” Bret blogged. “Whether it was a miscommunication, missed cue or missed mark no matter what the situation was the prop should have been stopped or at least slowed for a few more seconds until I cleared the stage.”

A rep for Bret Michaels has issued photos and a statement about the nose fracture and busted lip the Poison rocker suffered during his show opening performance at Sunday night’s 2009 Tony Awards. The Michaels camp is disappointed — more like incensed — with the manner in which show producers handled Bret’s accident, saying if it had been “Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton or Elton John” who had been injured “the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern.”

“With all due respect to everyone working the Tony awards somewhere down the line there was a lack of communication and the prop should have been immediately halted until Michaels was clear. Sunday morning at rehearsals, Bret was never informed that the descending set piece existed, let alone would be moving into position as he was exiting the stage,” Janna Elias, a rep for the VH1 reality star, said in statement posted on the singer’s website on Wednesday. “Although Bret was visibly dazed he remained extremely calm backstage as members of our road crew brought him a towel to wipe the blood from his face. His only comment at the time was ‘What the hell just hit me?’ The severity of this injury is not being taken lightly as symptoms from head and neck injuries at first may seem like nothing and sometimes do not present for days. At this time the full extent of his injuries remains to be seen until all x-rays are back.”

The statement continued:

“I find it surprising that a Tony spokesperson would brush off this incident with a comment stating ‘Mr. Michaels missed his mark’ with no mention of concern for his condition. If everyone at the Tonys were aware that Bret missed his mark then they should have been aware enough to stop the set piece from hitting him or at least slowed it down until he cleared the stage. I feel had this incident happened to Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton or Elton John the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern.”

The 46-year-old star of VH1’s reality dating series Rock of Love broke his nose and required three stitches to his lip after he was hit by a large sign being lowered from the ceiling as he exited the stage following the band’s show opening performance.

“He told me, ‘All I remember is Shrek and the Donkey helping me up, and Liza [Minnelli] giving me a towel.’” says Joann Mignano, Bret’s longtime rep.

The Associated Press reports that Bret fractured his nose, received three stitches in his lip, and is “pretty bruised up” following last night’s mishap. According to his publicist, Bret — who has already been x-rayed–will undergo a CAT scan later this afternoon as a precautionary measure.

As Bret rolls into each town in his pimped-out black tour bus, a pink bus filled with beautiful blondes and a blue bus filled with gorgeous brunettes competing for his heart will follow close behind.
