Miley Cyrus Covers Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” For Chimes Of Freedom Compilation

Miley Cyrus (and other artists) have collaborated for an Amnesty International collaboration of Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” and other songs for a cover album entitled Chimes Of Freedom for Amnesty International.

The album features work by over 80 artists complete with 76 covers of Bob Dylan originals as a salute to the organization’s 50th Anniversary and Life Saving Human Rights Work.  The album includes work by: Adele, Maroon 5, Joan Baez, The Airborne Toxic Event, Elvis Costello, Mark Knopfler, Dave Mathews Band, Lenny Kravitz, Cage the Elephant, My Chemical Romance, Ziggy Marley, Kris Kristofferson, Diana Krall, Natasha Bedingfield, Jackson Browne, Darren Criss, Silversun Pickups, Sting, Sugarland, Lucinda Williams, Pete Townshed, K’NAAN,  Evan Rachel Wood, Tom Morello, Joe Perry, Raphael Saddiq, and Seal & Jeff Beck.

The album goes on sale January 24, 2012.

Bob Dylan Tribute Album Prepped for Release

The last time we heard about Bob Dylan, we were critiquing his rappin’ grandson’s lyrical prowess. But the folk singing activist is back on our radar amid news that some of the biggest stars in music today are prepping a tribute album especially for Dylan. Adele, Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, Ke$ha, and Dave Matthews Band are among the artist who’ll appear on the upcoming LP Chimes of Freedom: Songs Of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International.

The three-disc compilation, which is being produced by Amnesty International, will be released on Jan. 30, with all proceeds going towards the charity. Additional covers will come from My Chemical Romance, Mariachi El Bronx, Queens Of The Stone Age, and My Morning Jacket.

Bob Dylan’s Grandson Is A Rapper

“The times, they are a’changing,” and these days, everyone’s a hip-hopster! Move over Chet Haze: Just when we thought Tom Hanks’ celebuspawn was the reigning silver spooner with a knack for dropping “Hot 16s,” comes news that the grandson of folk music legend Bob Dylan knows his way around a cypher as well.

Bob Dylan Croons “The Times, They Are A-Changin’” In First White House Performance

In his first performance ever at the White House, folk legend Bob Dylan performed his classic “The Times, They are A-Changin” during The Obamas’ White House concert, which airs on PBS stations nationwide tonight, Feb. 11 @ 8 PM ET.
