An assault charge against Molina was dropped Wednesday after the manager issued a written apology to Hilton. Molina allegedly punched Hilton — whose real name is Mario Lavandeira — from behind outside a Toronto nightclub outside a Toronto nightclub following the MuchMusic Video Awards in June. Fists started flying after the openly gay blogger referred to Black Eyed Peas’ leader will.i.am as a slur for homosexuals. (Perez later told OUT Magazine that his initial reaction was to call Will the “N-word.”)

Molina’s lawyer, Mark Sandler, read the apology outside the courthouse.

“I apologize for what I did on June 22 of 2009, even though you engaged in highly offensive comments, including a homophobic slur to my clients, I acknowledge that these kinds of issues should not be resolved through a physical response,” Sandler read.

Attorneys for the blogger said they were unhappy with the choice of words in the apology, but it would be grudingly accepted:

“Although accepting the fact that he shouldn’t resort to violence, he attempted to say that there was a precipitating cause,” Hilton’s lawyer, Brian Greenspan, said afterwards. “A sincere apology is a sincere apology.”

The special marks the second time nominations for music’s biggest night will be announced live on primetime TV. NCIS star LL Cool J will return as host of the one-hour special, which take place Dec. 2, at Club NOKIA in Los Angeles and will air on CBS @ 9 PM EST.

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton is suing the man he claims assaulted him after an altercation with the Black Eyed Peas in Toronto on Sunday.

Hilton, whose name is real is Mario Lavandeira, says he got into an argument with Fergie and will. i.am of the Black Eyed Peas at a Toronto nightclub after last weekend’s MuchMusic Video Awards. He claims he was later punched in the face outside the club by Polo Molina, the band’s manager.

According to The Associated Press, Hilton is seeking to protect his rights to free speech and claims Molina attacked him because he made critical comments about the Black Eyed Peas’ new album, The E.N.D.

“No matter how angry Molina and his entourage may have been, no matter how much they disagree with Lavandeira’s opinions, they did not have, nor do they ever have, the right to try and inflict physical harm on him or anyone else….” the suit reads.

Molina was arrested by Canadian authorities and charged with assault on Monday. He is due to appear in court on August 5.

The suit is seeking unspecified damages of more than $25,000.

The celebrity sect isn’t in a forgiving sort of mood when it comes to razor-tongued meanie Perez Hilton. In fact, some celebrities, like Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson, find the celebrity gossip blogger’s weekend beatdown in Toronto downright funny.

In case you live under a boulder, the web’s No.1 shit starter has fingered Black Eyed Peas manager Polo Molina in the assault that left him with a black eye and a bloody nose.

In an interview with the website The Gossip Kid on Monday, singer Kelly Clarkson said that while she does not condone violence, Perez had it coming. Kelly noted that since blogger is not even nice to young celebrities, like Disney’s Miley Cyrus, or the children of celebs, no one is going to shed any tears for him.

“You’re mean to children! No one’s going to pity you,” Kelly joked.

Celebrity gossip queen Perez Hilton says he is “saddened” that the nation’s leading gay rights group has publicly chastised him for using an antigay slur to admonish Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am, after the rapper allegedly slugged the blogger after the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto over the weekend.

On Monday, The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation blasted a seething Perez — who is openly gay — for referring to Will as that other “F-word” in an vlog uploaded after Sunday’s brawl.

In a statement to E! News, Hilton says: “I am saddened GLAAD chose to victimize me further by criticizing me for how I nonviolently dealt with a very scary situation that, unfortunately, turned violent. While I doubt I will get an apology from GLAAD, nor do I expect one, I would just hope people know how difficult it is to intellectualize a situation and think rationally when a thug disguised as a musician is screaming at your face and intimidating you. I am just very fortunate and grateful that nothing more serious happened to me.”
