The Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian star has taped an orientation film, which will be shown continuously in the Smithsonian Castle Visitors Center in Washington.

In the 10-minute short film, the actor shows off some of the institute’s most popular exhibits, including the Hope Diamond and the red ruby slippers featured in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. The film also highlights research and conservation efforts at The National Zoo and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama.

Comedians Chris Rock and Ben Stiller discussed Friday’s opening of their new animated comedy, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, on The TODAY Show Friday.

“We are asking people not to go to the movie and hope to bring a consciousness to people about using derogatory words about this population,” Peter Wheeler, spokesman for the Special Olympics, said Monday.

Tonight’s Tropic Thunder Hollywood will be “the start of a nationwide protest,” Wheeler says.

Tom Cruise says he feels inspired by Ben Stiller after working with the actor/director on the spoof comedy Tropic Thunder, opening in theaters August 13th.

“One can’t fully appreciate what he has accomplished in acting, writing, directing, producing, and starring in a film like Tropic Thunder without recognizing that any single one of these functions alone is a full-time job,” Cruise, who enjoyed a cameo in the movie, says in the September issue of Men’s Vogue.

Tom says he jumped at the chance to appear in Tropic Thunder when approached him with the “dream project” he had been working on for over eight years.

“To make a long story short, I read it, I loved it, and we started working on it,” Tom says.

Hilton Family matriarch Kathy Hilton is becoming a B-list actress in her own right. After making a few cameo appearances on the Emmy-winning daytime drama The Young & The Restless earlier this year, Kathy will have a cameo appearance as the wife of Tom Cruise in the new Ben Stiller/Tom Cruise comedy Tropic Thunder, opening later this Summer.

“She filmed last winter and didn’t even tell her kids because she wanted to surprise them,” a set insider tells In Touch Weekly. “She raved about Tom,” says the insider. “She said he was so warm and friendly and made her very comfortable.”

Kooky mets Comedian in 2008 with Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller teaming up to star in a film adaptation of the classic teen book series The Hardy Boys.

Tom and Ben play brothers Frank and Joe forced to overcome sibling rivalry and solve a mystery.

Canadian filmmaker Shawn Levy, who directed Ben’s mega holiday hit A Night At the Museum, will be in charge of the flick from Twentieth Century Fox.

The Hardy Boys book series began in 1927 and was written by various ghost writers under the pen name Franklin W. Dixon.

The last of the fifty-eight books was released in 1979.
