Two of the most respected women in journalism will come face-to-face when veteran newswoman Barbara Walters sits down for an one-hour primetime interview with Oprah Winfrey about the end of the daytime talk star’s show.
Oprah isn’t the only television icon whose life story is being made into a movie: Barbara Walters, 80, is in chats with HBO about possibly producing a television biopic based on her life and career in journalism.
Barbara Walters will return to The View next week, making first television appearance since having heart surgery nearly two months ago.
Walters will make a guest appearance on Monday’s show via Skype, ABC News confirmed in a statement Thursday. The 80-year-old journalist underwent heart valve replacement surgery in May. Since that time, she has taken a break from co-hosting duties on the award-winning daytime gabfest in favor of catching up on rest and recuperation.
