Winfrey, who had never before endorsed a presidential candidate, was a staunch Obama supporter during his presidential campaign and even appeared at several of the then-senator’s rallies around the country.

“She hates him. She’s into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise,” an Angie insider has divulged. “Angie isn’t Republican, but she thinks Obama is all smoke and mirrors.”

The gesture went largely unnoticed in Japan and experts in Asian etiquette are praising Obama for an appropriate show of respect:

“Bowing is an expression of respect and open-mindedness as a person greets someone,” said Reiko Kasai, chief instructor at JAL Academy, an intercultural training school. “It is part of a greeting with which one shows his or her willingness for the meeting,” she said.

“Why do people hate you? And why, aren’t they supposed to love you, if God is love?” Tyren asked.

“First of all, I did get elected president, so not everybody hates me; I got a whole lot of votes,” the President joked, patting Tyren on the shoulder as the audience clapped. “A lot of it is what’s called politics, where once one party wins, the other party feels like they’ve got to poke you a little bit to keep you on your toes. So you shouldn’t take it too seriously.”

He went on: “But people are worried about their own lives. A lot of people are losing their jobs right now. They’re losing their health care or they lost their homes to foreclosure and they’re feeling frustrated, and when you’re president of the United States, you’ve got to deal with all of it. You get some of the credit when things are going good, but when things are going bad, you get some of the blame.”

Obama added, “But that’s all right, I’m a pretty tough guy. Are you a tough guy? You look pretty tough. So you’ve just got to keep going on going, even when folks are criticizing you, when you know you’re doing it for other people.”

The committee said it attached particular emphasis on the President’s vision of a world without nuclear weapons.

The stunning choice made Obama only the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize, shocking many Nobel watchers who believed it was too early to award the president. Barack Obama took office only weeks before the committee’s Feb. 1 deadline for nominations. Theodore Roosevelt won the award in 1906 and Woodrow Wilson won in 1919. Former President Jimmy Carter won the award in 2002, while former Vice President Al Gore shared the 2007 prize with the U.N. panel on climate change.

“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” the committee said this morning. “His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population.”

“Obama has as president created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play,” the committee said.

The world’s most famous male supermodel appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live last Thursday night, where he identified President Barack Obama as the man he’d most like to hit the sheets with.

“I don’t actually go that way, but i notice like a lot of people think i do… but you know what if I’m a do it – I’m going for Obama. If I got with him I could run the country. If i was that way Obama I would go for you brother,” he added. “Yeah, I’d be the one in control. That’s if i was that way. Like who you going to go for? Will Smith – somebody pretty like that? I mean not to say Obama isn’t pretty – I would go straight for Obama.”

Referring to Republican Rep. Joe Wilson’s “You lie!” outburst as Obama addressed health-care reform to the nation two weeks ago, Letterman asked Obama if he believed former President Jimmy Carter’s assertion that the South Carolina congressman is racist.

“Well, first of all, I think it’s important to realize that I was actually black before the election, so…This is true. This is true,” the President laughed. “I actually think that what’s happened is that whenever a president tries to bring about significant changes, particularly during times of economic unease, then there is a certain segment of the population that gets very riled up.”

He continued: “You know, one of the things you sign up for in politics is folks yell at you, but I think that what has been missing from the conversation is that the overwhelming majority of people, Republican or Democrat, I think they just want to see some common sense, they want to see some honesty and integrity in Washington. I think they’re turned off by the shouting and the yelling, and they expect more from their public elected officials.”

Uh-Oh. KanyeGate 2009 just got real!

The President of The United States has been caught on tape lighting into Kanye West. TMZ just obtained audio of President Barack Obama referring to the hip-hop heavyweight as “a jackass” in the aftermath of the rapper’s infamous stage-storming during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards 2009 in New York City on Sunday night.

The audio was recorded just before Obama went on camera to do an interview with CNBC on Monday night. Before the interview began, Obama started chatting about Kanye’s antics onstage the night before, saying: “I thought that was really inappropriate,” adding, “He’s a jackass.”

After making the remarks, the Prez became worried the joke would go viral, saying slyly: “Cut the President some slack.” Obama’s Kanye Diss has been making headlines all day, after Nightline correspondent Terry Moran posted a Tweet claiming the President had made an off color remark about West.
